Came here on a Wednesday night to catch up with friends. Made a 6:15pm reservation via Resy which was seamless. Ordered a whole bunch of dips and for mains, we shared the mixed grill which was really delightful. Was so full - I didn't have room for dessert. Highly recommend to try out. Their garlic whip was one the best I've had in the city. Make sure you make a reservation as the restaurant had people waiting outside as we left at 830pm.

Craving something fresh and delicious for lunch so I stopped by Balade. Upon arriving the staff was very attentive and made sure I got my seated with my menu and water within minutes. The space is very inviting and I'm sure it looks beautiful at night. My waiter's name was George. I ordered the chicken shawarma with a side of fries & he recommended I try their lemonade. This meal was so flavorful. I love their garlic butter. I will most definitely be back.

We had a great dining experience at Balade! The ambiance is so cozy and intimate. The drinks were good and the food was flavorful and delicious. I highly recommend the Balade Mixed Grill Platter! The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. I highly recommend checking this spot out!

Afternoon Birthday Lunch 6/7/2026 We were seated as soon as we arrived( even without a reservation) We had the sweetest waitress. She was very helpful describing the dishes and even told us what ingredients were in the dishes. She made delicious and tasty menu suggestions. She refilled water glasses and checked in from time to time. Our dilemma was what to get Mr Picky for his birthday dessert. We ended up with a milk custard type dessert with crushed pistachios and sweet syrup. Perfect palatte cleanser after this delicious meal. Our starters were Kebbe as well as the shrimp appetizers. Both were very fresh, tasty, and delicious. Entrees we ordered the lambchops and tuna over salad. Now these were both amazing in flavor, and cooked to perfection. This restaurant is now in our after church rotation. If you are ever in the area...pop in here and let your taste buds enjoy the deliciousness.

Great food, drinks, atmosphere and staff! Party of 3 on a Saturday night, reserved in advance. The space is beautifully decorated and the staff was welcoming and helpful. We each had a glass of Lebanese wine and the server let us sample before deciding. Great touch! I ordered white (Massaya), and the others each had a glass of the Lebanese red. We shared a bunch of mezze small dishes. One person in our party is vegetarian so we ordered mostly veg, only 2 of the items were meat. We started with pick 4 Veg Mazmeez: Falafel Mouhmara Baba Ghanouj Labne with toum Additional items we ordered: Arayyis Makanek Batata Harra Everything was delicious and I would definitely come back.

Came with a friend during restaurant week and it was a ton of food. We were both getting full just after the appetizers lol. I took most of my entree home and it fed me for another two meals. The desserts were refreshing but also a little too sweet for my choice. Overall the flavors were expected and didnt blow me away but i appreciated the portion sizes. We came during lunch time and a lot of tables were empty but it started filling up by the time we left

Balade in the Lower East Side: www.baladerestaurants.com Cuisine: Lebanese Noise Level: Pretty loud. Service: Fantastic! My 3 cents: They have indoor and outdoor seating. You're right on 1st Ave. so lots of people watching if that's your thing. We rather be inside w/ air conditioning :) Get the Baba Ghanouj and the Kebbe Kras! Their Tarboush Chicken came highly recommended. This was thinly sliced marinated boneless chicken, topped w/ toum, honey, dijon, sliced tomatoes, onions and pickles on a pita style pizza. The crust was perfect. The raw onion, tomato and pickle w/ the sauce was a bit weird. The sauce had a flavor profile that was ok. If someone ordered it and offered me a slice, I might have it if I was in the mood for it but would I order it again for myself? Probably not. I'd come back to try other dishes.

Pricey but tasty, not sure if it's worth the cost & crowds though... came to $65pp when a friend and I ordered 3 dips & 1 main. No drinks. The dips were quite small portions but came with a couple mini pitas. The pitas were chewy and fresh, but on the drier side. Considering the dips were priced at ~$20 per, I would have expected a slightly bigger portion! We ordered the variety of kababs for the main, which came with fries and pita. The meat was well cooked and we got generously sized chunks. Maybe I'm just personally not a huge fan of kababs because they're dry even if cooked well. The fries were standard but nothing special.

Y'all every step of this meal hit the dang mark. Got two apps: Hummus with Lamb and Kebbe Kras The hummus was stellar - creamy, tangy, and the added lamb was perfect. The Kebbe Kras was fireeee, beef onions and almonds with this minty yogurt sauce to dip, it was crispy and steamy got me feeling some type of way. Shish Tawook for main, chicken so tender I was like I wish I was that chicken. Toum was great (as it should) and rice was so flavorful mmm. Star of the show though, got the Ashta for dessert y'all I was tearing up at this table that ish had me smelling colors I was on cloud 15 I cannot believe what I experienced there like as i'm writing this review i'm taking breaks and looking up a recipe to make this bc i need moreeeeee.

We were lucky to stumble upon Balade the night before Thanksgiving. For a while, we were the only patrons. The decor and vibe felt really nice. Service was attentive. Their fresh bread was fantastic along with their hummus made for a great appetizer. Everything tasted well seasoned and was cooked to order (especially their grilled chicken). Portions were gigantic which we appreciated. Definitely highly recommended and we hope to visit again!

Went to celebrate our friends graduation dinner here! As expected, the food was absolutely delicious. They have a limited cocktail menu, but they can make anything you request. The service was great! Please do try their meat platter and the different hummus and dips with pita ! Will be returning

Sharif & Rommy were the best best energy and vibe, making every accommodation possible and creating the most welcoming, warm & homey environment - exactly how Lebanese food should be shared. Now for the food - I got the shish tawaook and it was exceptional. Huge portions, comes with rice and vegetables. I got extra toum and it was clearly house made! I love balade and everyone in our 5 person group loved it. A nyc staple. A home away from home.

Came here for restaurant week. It was $45 for the set. Honestly it was very ok. The dips were great but overall for New York, it was below average. The pizza beef thing thought was fire. The service was decent. They could've been more attentive to the water considering it was not busy. They also tools. While to check in on us when we were waiting for boxes. The dessert was good and not sweet. It was more savory which I really enjoyed. The flavors were lacking a bit but perhaps it was the restaurant week deal.

It was a little hard to hear and converse at times as it gets crowded, but the food was delicious and there are really unique items on the menu. Food: The duck shawarma was one of our favorites! The lamb and scallops were also flavorful and tender. The dips were delicious with the pita, but I wish the serving size for the dips were bigger. The fries were great - well seasoned! Also recommend the milky pudding, it was a nice refreshing way to end the dinner. Service: Our server was super helpful in letting us know what items are more shareable and his suggestions for cocktails. Definitely try some of the arak based cocktails. We were lead upstairs to a table. There were 7 of us The seating was cozy but not cramped. We started with 7 family style small dishes: Hummus with Falafel Pops (chickpea purée, tahini, falafel, olive oil), Spring Burrata (roasted cherry tomatoes, toast, basil oil), Hamachi Crudo (passionfruit vinaigrette, citrus zest, cucumber, mint, sesame tuile), Scallops (carrot puree, serrano pepper, brown butter sauce), Tenderloin Skewer (zaatar chimichurri, fresh herb salad), and Shiitake Stuffed Grape Leaves (tomato coulis, yogurt foam, herbs). Everything was delicious. The hummus was well seasoned the falafel had a nice crunch. It went well with the warm puffy gyro bread that came to the table. The burrata was wasm and creamy. I love the vinaigrette on the fish. I ended up eating most of it. The scallops were the sweetest, most tender ones I have ever had. The tenderloin skewers were tender and well seasoned. I liked the grape leaves but the rice consistency was very soft almost mushy and you can barely tell there were mushrooms. There was barely any mushrooms flavor. Next we all chose an entree. I got the duck breast, my husband and daughter each had the beef tenderloin. The duck breast was smaller than i expected. The skin was nicely seared and very crispy but boy did it give my jaw a workout. It was done medium rare. It was juicy but tough. The small beef tenderloin was tender and smoky. The waiter poured the sauce over the tenderloin for added flavor. Finally dessert was a fruit plate with ice cream and pudding. The fruit was fresh and the flavors of the ice cream and pudding unique. It was a nice end to a good brunch. The price was a little expensive at $85 a person.

Great for groups of all sizes, reservations suggested but on this weekday visit, it was not too busy. We had a resy any way. Service was fair. Our waiter checked in with us once after we ordered and we had to beckon him twice - once for water refill and second for condiments/questions. What I didn't appreciate but understood, since we were two people dining, we got a corner table for two. It was not busy so we asked for the table next to us since we ordered plenty. They did not accommodate us saying they may need it for later. I did not think that was necessary since the place was not busy. This was 6pm on a Wednesday. And to boot, huge dining room - plenty of seating available. This was off putting as we said we ordered plenty. Our plates barely fit and they brought everything almost at once. Onto the food, I may not have ordered their popular dishes but nevertheless, nothing to rave about. Portions were shareable but it was just okay. There was not one stand out dish. I had higher expectations based on other reviews and photos but it was likely what we ordered. This was a vegetarian meal for me since I was dining with a vegetarian. - Moussakaa, this was a very tomato based sauce dish. Fried eggplant and chick peas combined had a nice texture. Mild flavors. - Arayess cheese - sorely disappointed. Very little flavor and I love my cheeses. It needed something to make it more appealing. It literally looked like cheese in a pita. And yes, by description it was. No condiments or side of anything to offset the plating. Visually flat. It could've used a sun dried tomato paste or some acidic side dipping sauce. - Yara Fries - shockingly simple, zaatar and spices. But they didn't put enough. It still looked like regular fries. And by the name, I expected more punch of flavor. It was not there. - Falafel - tricky dish if it's not cooked well. Simple again by name but the ingredients were just mild in flavor. Crunch was perfect. The chickpea, onions, cilantro and garlic was not pronounced. It was ok. Not memorable. - House wine, by the glass, decent and went well with what we ate. Would I return is the question... Likely not. The menu was so promising but nothing to bring me back.

The seating area is fairly small, which surprised me. We ordered the crispy garlic rice, the Piri Piri chicken sandwich, and the famous knefeh and chicken pancake. The server was so nice, she offered us a sample of the seasonal lemonade, which had rose water and turmeric. It did take a little bit of time for all the food to come out. We chit-chatted while we shared the garlic rice (a little crunchy, very mild) and the chicken sandwich. The PiriPiri sandwich came with a huge piece of fried chicken that was spiced and fried well. The chicken was juicy and not super dry. The little bit of pickled cabbage helped keep things from becoming too greasy. After a bit of wait, the pancake was served. It was such a fun experience with the crunchy kadayif noodles and the cheese hidden underneath a super fluffy pancake. The salty and cheesy flavors of the pancake went well with the rose maple syrup. The spice from the chicken added another note to the dish that made it such a great combo of flavor. I could not stop picking at this huge pancake. It's definitely meant to be eaten by at least two, if not three. If we had known, we probably wouldn't have ordered the other chicken sandwich. Overall the contrast in the chicken and knafeh pancake alone was enough to want me to visit again. The textural crunch, the melted pull of the cheese, the sweet syrup against salty and spicy flavors of the chicken. Not only was the whole presentation beautiful, but the dish itself tasted amazing. I would visit Hen House again for the experience.

That kind of attention to detail is rare, if I could give 6 stars I would! They are also incredibly accommodating with dietary needs. When the waitress heard my brother was gluten free, she immediately brought out a new plate with double salad instead of rice. Fattoush goes above and beyond in every way. An unforgettable meal and experience. I cannot recommend it enough. I will absolutely be back to try more. Also a beautiful & quiet place to sit with friends or family. We made some very special memories here and laughed into the night.

Had lunch at Fattoush this past week and really enjoyed it…read more Ambiance is great. The restaurant wasn't too busy on a Saturday afternoon. Service is friendly and food came out quickly. We ordered many things and food was mostly excellent. Warak Enab, fattoush salad, moussaka, mujdara, and cheese rolls were very good. Shish Tawouk was very dry unfortunately, and the fatayer were soggy so it possibly reheated in a microwave? Prices are a bit on the high side, and we'll likely stick to the mezze/appetizers going forward. We'll definitely return!
