My family and I are…read morestaying in Monterrey for a medical procedure of my son, who has cerebral palsy, and we had hoped for some small bit of peace and quiet. There is absolutely no chance of it in this hotel. Construction: the construction noise is relentless and horrible. You should be ashamed of yourselves for charging the amount of money your are charging when you know this is going to be a problem for all of your guests. I'm currently listening to a backhoe loading concrete into a dump truck while my son is trying to nap. To top it off, there is construction remodeling going on two floors above me so we can now hear sawing and or drilling above us too. Air conditioning: I'm sure most people understand that the AC kicking on and off can be distracting but the startling and abrupt sound it makes allows for ZERO sleep. Every few minutes we are awakened by the loud banging on and off of the AC unit. Refrigerator: what a joke! They don't even work. They are basically coolers. Each unit doesn't even have a motor to make things cool. It simply MIGHT keep something cold if it's ALREADY cold. Television: only half the channels on one of the televisions and when we complained and they sent a maintenance guy up, he left and said he would fix and NEVER RETURNED. How is that possible? I wish for someone to contact me about my family's experience. There is no way I should pay full price for this experience. SHAME ON YOU!

Front desk people are also a hit and a mis, some greet you, some don't. The girl that checked me in enrolled me in the Starwood program without even asking me if I wanted to join, she didn't mention anything about the breakfast either, the best service at the front desk was provided by a gentleman that was still in training. I had to stay here due to the location, next time I'll just keep staying at Camino Real, more expensive yes, but with better service.

The people at the front desk were not especially friendly nor engaging but once they get to you they are thorough and efficient. The lobby and common areas are pleasant and nicely decorated. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The towels are about average. The pillows and linens are clean and nice. There was an in room coffee service, but I didn't try it. The room also has a flat screen TV, iron and ironing board, plenty of drawers, closet space, a desk, etc. An insulated ice bucket is provided on a shelf in the entertainment center. To get ice you must ask a server from the restaurant (inside courtyard/patio). I was provided two keys. One I used to power the room (nothing, not even the AC works until a key is placed in a little control near the room door). The medium sized pool is nice and has a jacuzzi area with jets, although it is NOT hot water. The water from the jacuzzi pool waterfalls into the larger pool. There is an exercise room facing the pool, but there is little there. The main weight lifting exercise machine is not operable. Cables are unattached. So it is useless. No free weights. The restaurant has a good (but not great) breakfast: eggs with chopped up hotdogs, chilaquiles (good), beans, fruit, coffee, juices. There are plenty of electrical outlets to charge your devices and the free wifi is excellent. Shuttle service is available to and from the airport. A nice restaurant is right next door. To go anywhere else on foot would be challenging and dangerous. There is a shopping center close by with more restaurants and shopping, but I would recommend getting a taxi or an Uber rather than hoofing it along the busy and dangerous highway. There are no sidewalks, and there are uncovered manholes, etc., along the way. Some improvement is needed but overall a nice place to sleep for a business trip. There is a Best Western Premier Hotel located on the Airport Boulevard and which is newer and nicer (obviously closer to the airport). This particular one is the Best Western Plus, less fancy and less expensive, located on the Miguel Aleman highway. Both offer shuttle service to and from the airport.

They have free shuttle service to airport and they 10 kilometers sorrounding area. They have hot free breakfast. It was very good. Tradicional food such as Chilaquiles, enchiladas with mole. Eggs., refried beans and the usual cereal. Fresh orange and other fruit juice. My stay was pleasant and will be back.

The hotel has a small gym with a couple of treadmills, an exercise cycle and an elliptical and some free weights with a one bench. The swimming pool is small and may be good enough only for the kids. It's important to note that there's another Holiday Inn nearby so make sure you're going to the right one. Location-wise, it's amazing! It's right next to Parque Fundidora, which is one of the places you should visit if it's your first time. You can just walk through the building towards the food court area and use the pedestrian bridge to cross. The park also leads to Paseo Santa Lucía, which is another Monterrey thing to experience. There's also an Oxxo and 7 eleven right across the street so if you need to buy water or snacks, it's super convenient. This was a pretty affordable option and the facilities are really nice because they're brand new and very clean. Service was amazing. The staff was always attentive and ready to help. It's also great that their continental breakfast is included. It's not exactly the same every day so it's nice that they mix is up. Some days we had pancakes, others chilaquiles, others even menudos. A little more than just continental! The most amazing thing about this place are the views. We absolutely loved enjoying beautiful views of el Cerro de la Silla and the entire city from our rooms, the side windows, and their amazing terrace. It was magical at night too! Highly recommend!
