Very pricey for totally unreliable Internet. The room is quiet and quite large but we are here to work and going downstairs to use the Internet is unacceptable. read more

Also, unfortunately, they were doing work in the building while I was there, which woke me up early every morning. It seemed to be only temporary, so shouldnt be a problem. The hotel is actually located on several floors of a building and it almost feels like you are in the guest room of someones house, which is cozy. My room was nice with quite antique-looking furniture. The beds were comfy and they offered nice down pillows and duvets which was good since it was snowy and freezing outside. Breakfast is offered from 7-10am and has a really nice selections of meats, cheeses, breads, jams, hard-boiled eggs, cereals, yogurts, and fruits, as well as coffees and teas. They serve it in a cute communal room with a nice man who helps serve everything. The only real drawback to this hotel is the location. I was staying for work, for which it proved very close, but if you want to be close to the city center or anything else it is a bit far. True, the tram line is right out front, which is good if you dont mind taking the tram, but it is a fairly far walk which you would not want to make through the snow blizzard I just dealt with. Other wise, cute place, nice people.

This hotel is absolutely fantastic, and I highly recommend staying here. The location is perfect,…read moreand some of the rooms overlook the plaza and the Nikolaikirche. We received a corner room with two balconies that overlooked the plaza, and it was a delight to watch the people and excitement of the city. There are so many great restaurants, bars, and bakeries nearby. We paid $113 for our room, including breakfast, which was delicious. The staff members with whom we interacted were very friendly, and the bed was super comfy. I will definitely stay here again when I am next in Leipzig. We parked in the Q-Park Augustusplatz parking deck, which was 15 euro for overnight parking. Leipzig is very walkable, so we did not need to drive once we arrived at the hotel.

The gentleman who greeted us at the reception was terrible and unwelcoming. He bearly spoke English, and refused to honor our voucher for a complementary breakfast for two claiming that I did "not click the breakfast reservation button" when I reserved the room. We later found out that breakfast is a buffet, so extending us the courtesy would have made happy guests. The room was very small with hardly any room to open both suitcases. The room claimed to have a safe, but there was none. It was difficult to control the lights, as it was either on with the room card in the slot or off by removing the card. The TV would not turn off, and we were stuck with a constant hour loop of a burning fireplace. There were two elevators, but only one was working. The working elevator took forever to arrive. We would have taken the stairs if we were not on the fifth floor. The cleaning staff blocked the hallway each morning with their carts and expected the guests to get out of their way. It was ok for staying one or two nights, but I would not stay there any longer.

Among the hotels we have stayed at in Germany as part of our tour, the NH Hotel brand had the most spacious rooms and modern amenities. The rooms were very clean and had fast free WiFi. The breakfast buffet is one of the better ones as well. Dinner was included in our one night stay; however, that was underwhelming. Staff and front desk were friendly and spoke English fluently. The only downside is that the hotel is far from Leipzig's city center. This hotel is located near the highway and an office complex with shops and a KFC fast food chain.

Let's start with the positives: central location in the city center, close to the main railway station just one stop by tram. Check in is quick. The showers are good. The place itself is fairly run down. It begins in the elevator, extends through the hallways all the way into the room. Floors, wash rooms, walls closets are not clean. Rooms are only cleaned and towels changed upon request "to project the environment" and that shows. Few power outlets. No fridge. No iron. No coffee maker. Not even a bottle of water. And you may not use the coffee machine in the lobby either. Even the cheapest motel has free coffee these days. And for all that, you pay a steep price. Any Best Western is better euqipped and maintained. I would not stay here again.

Front desk lady was a bot rode, she asked me to sign the checkin papers & I picked up a pen over the counter but she grabbed it out of hands! Yes, grabbed out of my hands saying that it's her personal pen! OK, I under stand some OCD special needs but to physically grab a pen out of guest hands is unacceptable. It would have been 5 stars but I took one star away due to her rudeness. Other than that, the hotel is perfect.

First, there was the booking experience. I emailed the info address with my needs and got a friendly and immediate response from the general manager himself, Herr Reinhold. They made both of their suites available which proved a very good option for us with many kids and grandpa/grandma. When the evening of our arrival coincided with the soccer Eurocup, we asked if we could dine in the suite instead of in the restaurant. The catering team set up an exquisite buffet in the room that everyone enjoyed. They arranged EV charging for us and tickets to the Leipzig zoo (highly recommended). Every little need was met with a smile and a way to figure it out. Service at its best, the pandemic notwithstanding. The suites themselves were spacious and light, comfortable and well-appointed, and quiet. When in Leipzig, stay here.

The staff was very kind and welcoming and made for a pleasurable stay. There's a small bar on the ground level that is nice at night time, but is situated directly next to a smoky outdoor room so the constant wafting of smoky air filled our nostrils as we drank tasty German beer and sipped Ramazotti. The bartender was nice, but obviously busy with room orders. So if you want the typical American bar service where they are very attentive, you might be disappointed. But this is true for most bars in Germany, I have found. On that same level, they serve breakfast every morning. It's a generous spread of various cured meats, cheeses, bread, cereal, juice & milk. The room was somewhat modest but very clean and tidy. The view was pretty & the area quiet and peaceful. The pricing was also very affordable as well. If I ever venture back this way in Germany, I will definitely return!
