Patrick saved my life. I was suicidal at that point, but a couple of friends and family members begged me to give Patrick a chance. He is the first doctor that I ever went to who was younger than myself, so I was immediately standoffish with him. I explained to him what was going on and in less than 15 minutes he was confident he knew what the issue was and what to do about it. I was happy with how he truly listened and made a point to understand what I was trying to express. What I really like about Patrick is that he takes a broad approach to psychiatry. He does give prescriptions, but also honors other approaches: he is trained as a nutritionist and makes great diet/supplement suggestions with science to back up why he is making the suggestion; he encourages a whole self approach that includes exercise and meditation; he encourages the services of outside psychotherapists in a variety of specialties; he always congratulates me on steps I make forward in life and is supportive like a good friend. I owe my life to Patrick Ellis and am eternally grateful for the love and compassion that he has always given me.

Had an appointment with Melanie Bailey - shares space with Dr. Ellis. She thought I could benefit…read morefrom seeing him so went out to lobby and made appointment for July 30 with Dr. Ellis. No mention of any additional paperwork for me to fill out (had filled out over five pages for Ms. Bailey). Got a reminder call yesterday (7/29) that my appointment was Thursday at 1:30. Arrived at 1:25 and was asked if I had my paperwork filled out. "Didn't get any paperwork." The receptionist replied that they had sent it. "I didn't get any paperwork." Went and sat down to wait. She then announced that they had mailed it to my home on July 1. "I didn't get any paperwork. I'm telling you I would have filled it out if I had gotten any but I didn't get any." She said she'd have to let Dr. Ellis know. Dr. Ellis came out and said he wouldn't be able to see me today because I hadn't filled out my paperwork. I told him I didn't get any. He said they have a script that they say when appointments are made and he's so familiar with it he's almost memorized it. "I didn't get any paperwork." I took a breath and thought I'd try to salvage something and said, "In the future, you might have them ask patients about it when they make the reminder call the day before." "Oh, they do," Dr. Ellis said, "I've heard them." I walked out and will not be back. Dr. Ellis overtalks, he's more worried about his forms and his scripts and not being wrong than he is about the real needs of patients. He wouldn't have had time to completely review it before my 1:30 appointment. I was not told to arrive early or anything during my reminder call so he couldn't have had time to digest my paperwork. So why couldn't he have spent the hour talking with me as I filled it out, or building rapport as a doctor and patient? He's more worried about being right than the real needs of patients. I would encourage people to keep looking past Dr. Ellis and his staff if they are in need of a psychiatrist. The upshot of all of this is I saved money and any additional time. People go see psychiatrists because they're in real need. At Dr. Ellis's office it's more important to check the boxes and imply that patients are at fault and liars. What a joke.

He takes the time to listen to my concerns rather than just pulling out the prescription pad. He's friendly, amusing, and seems like an all around great guy, in addition to being a great psych. In addition to that, his office staff is very friendly, and they remember who I am and greet me by name every time I come, even though I only see him every 6 months. I'd recommend him to absolutely anybody, whether you have mild issues in your life you want to deal with, or you're totally batshit crazy. Dr. Ripperger can help you.

He was distant and almost obnoxius to me. He gave me a new anti-depressant. I was out of town when I took this medication. I did not sleep for three days then called him. He said keep taking the medication, your body will get used to it. This arrogant doctor triggered a hypomanic episode. The only good he did for me was determine that I had bipolar disorder and that was why all those years my depression was untreatable. I wouldn't recommend him anyway because of his manner.

It seems to me that this Doctor and this business is not qualified to offer any type of care without stipulation. And Dr. Hennessey is not Qualified to preform even the mere standard amount of care.
