Dr Jim is a treasure! He listens well, takes his time and has an amazing bedside manner. I was a patient years ago and he helped me with my allergies and overall wellness. I have received acupuncture in the past and was very surprised and pleased with the results, however I could not afford the $100 per session fee to really give it a chance to work long term. The first visit is $30 which is reasonable, and I actually use my HSA account to pay for the visits which is really nice. I love this office because it's professional. I met Dr. Barrow's and was given recommend number of visits. In addition I am taking Chinese herbs which are provided at the clinic at very affordable prices as well. I'm really excited to have the opportunity to get continuous treatments here and look forward to great results. Natural healing takes time as the purpose is to balance the body in order to heal itself, so weeks of treatment may be needed to get the results you are seeking. The treatment itself is very simple. Once you meet with the doctor, you lay on a table after the needles have been placed. It's a quick sting, but not painful. Music is played in the background and you just relax for about 30 minutes and then you're done. I usually read, listen to mp3, and fall asleep while I'm receiving treatment, but it's always a relaxing time. I love that the space is clean. At first, I was skeptical, I mean the outside has a neon sign that reads: Acupuncture. Doesn't really welcome a newbie in. Well, this is where Yelp and word of mouth does it's job. And I was in the same boat as Rhea P, love acupuncture but at high expenses for one session, I could never go as often or for long term as they suggest. So, after seeing stellar reviews on Yelp, chatting with the yelpers and hearing about this place over and over, I finally went last week. $15 consultations $15 acupuncture $10 cupping Please note there is a $15 charge if you miss or need to reschedule your appointment without giving 24 hours notice. Like I said, not so amazing from the outside and not necessarily your all relaxing, regular spa like ambiance inside. However, it's very clean and everyone is extremely knowledgeable. The setup inside is a waiting area, consultation rooms in the back and then beds lined up and separated by curtains in the back. That is how they offer the low price treatments; they handle a large quantity of patients a day. What is great about that for you? Easy to get appointments! Doctor James Barrow is extremely welcoming. I received my consultation last week and it was extremely informative. We chatted about everything in my past and he read my body and told me what we should focus on. I began with cupping which is supposed to relieve the bad blood cells and toxins with a local suction created on the skin, mainly on your back and it ultimately mobilizes blood flow in order to promote healing. Dr. Barrow made sure I was comfortable the entire time. It does leave bruising but it should heal up within a week or two depending on how well you recover from bruising. I also received acupuncture and returned today for a second session. When you return you fill out a form about your status and review it and off you go for another session. I've been coming for over 2 years now and I can tell you acupuncture really works. Rarely am I ever sick because my energy flow is always in harmony. When I do feel a bit under the weather, I visit Dr. Barrow for a treatment and when I leave i'm all better. Due to increasing operating costs for the practice they have increased their price from $15 to $25 per treatment. I didn't know what to expect, as I had never had Acupuncture done. I was skeptical at first, but finally decided to give it try. A patient of my own had referred me to Dr. Barrow. I was blown away at the affordable price ($30 initial consultation, $15 treatments). I had suffered from pain from Endomitriosis for years, as did my sister. I wish I had found Balancing Point Wellness sooner, so I wouldn't had suffered for so long. After the first few treatments, I had noticed a difference in the severity of the pain. And after 6 months, my Endomitriosis was under control. Unfortunately my sister had tried other Acupuncture centers, and had paid over $100 per treatment, and didn't get the same results. I love Balancing Point Wellness!!! Dr Barrow's acupuncture helps my allergies, sinus and carpol tunnel in my arms and even chest infections I have gotten while Dr Pittinger's chiropractic skills alleviates my constant headaches and TMJ, helps balance out everything I put out of whack in my body during the week. Its a very clean place and everyone that works there has always been super nice when I check in. Dr. Barrow has single-handedly changed my life. I can't say enough "good things" about Balancing point and Dr. Barrow. Dr. B provides a professional, compassionate and competent service to the community. I first began going for tx. of very painful ovary and knew if I went the traditional route that I would be under the knife in no time flat. His prices allowed me to have several treatments for the price of just one at any other acupuncturist. I began with 3x a week for a few weeks then down to 2, then to 1x a month, then just to maintenance, with no pain, no surgery and just some herbs to keep hot flashes at bay.
