We had very a spacious room and the staff were very attentive whenever we needed their help. We had a small issue with our room door, which unfortunately they couldn't resolve the issue but were offered an upgrade. The Spa is state of the art and the outdoor pond and pool were a treat! Can't wait to come back!

The drive is down little country roads and you'll feel off the beaten track when you arrive. You drive down a driveway, making it feel very grand country house. The main car park is away from the main house and there's a lovely large conifer tree currently all lit up, making it feel very Christmassey The interior matches the grand exterior with high ceilings matched with heavy drapes and dark panelling. Calm and serene in the late morning with warm, friendly service. Kids menu with reasonable options including a junior Full English breakfast for about £5. Sandwiches for under £5. If you loved the 80s, you'll love Bantridge…read more The thought of an ex-Royal manor converted into apartments in the 80's filled me with dread. I pictured budget, faded, woodchip wallpaper, bad lampshades and floral patterns galore. I pictured the 60 odd of us cramped in dodgy sofa beds, musty moth ridden sheets and Teasmaid in the kitchen. Ok, so it didn't let me down on the Floral front, but it was no where near as hideous as I had pictured. In-fact it was idyllic. The majority of us inhabited the main mansion building, but others spilled out into the neighbouring Mews. Apartments held up to four people, double/twins and sofa beds. The Mrs, two others and I were on the top floor, Room 9, looking out at green upon green upon green landscape that surrounded the building. As I turned the key and wandered in, the only thought I had as I explored the MASSIVE rooms was, can I transport this apartment to South London and rent it. The Master bedroom was just that, masterful. Built in mirrored wardrobes (not to everyone's taste I know), bedside tables equipt with radio alarm and stereo. Massive Bathroom. Bath and shower and enough room to swing 5 cats. Clean and bright and warm. Living room/Dining room in 80s green, but with classy glass cabinate with cute little sherry glasses, half pint pub ale glasses eee. The kitchen had everything you'd need to cook up a storm, or at least a decent fry up. While no food is provided, they do offer the service of half a loaf, a few eggs and jam etc, but at £20, make sure you pop to Tesco before you leave, because with the nearest pub being a 15 min DRIVE away, there wont be another chance to top up. While the room was lush and bathroom big, the shower was a bit pathetic. No power and took forever to heat up... stick with the bath me thinks. The main building had around 12 apartments all unique and quirky in their own way and the mews next door were like little cottage bungalows. The place had some great little features and quirks. Not to mention signs everywhere warning 'beware the peacock'. While we saw a few of the little gems running around the courtyard, apparently there's an infamous white bird terrorising the guests. The management were more than accommodating, building us a bonfire and letting us set off fireworks on our stay. They joined us for a vege sausage or two and were lovely people. The place has a tennis court, small gym and games room, and lots of grounds to have a wander in. Although I nearly got stuck in the mud and attacked by certain plants, I still enjoyed a little ramble full of surprise areas and wood caved benches around the grounds. We really enjoyed our stay there and it was perfect for us to get away from the big smoke and have a little sing song. Lots of great memories created.
