On my way to work, I couldn't turn around

I was so disappointed The meat was way too thick for the Italian special . Didn't get the extra peperoni I paid for. Was on my way to work and couldn't go back

Quiet area off the interstate .. at least for now.. looks like they're aBout to build it up .. very nice customer service .. sandwhich is ok.. THEY FORGOT TO PUT PROVOLONE ON IT :( .. unfortunately I dont live close and had done got on the interstate before I realized it ...and I wish there was an Italian dressing or something cause it a kinda dry even after adding mayo, mustard oil and vinegar or maybe it's because I'm missing my CHEESE:(! ... and the meat portion is very small on such much bread however the price is reasonable

Baldino's is a regional chain located around the Savannah, Georgia area that bills their food as "Giant Jersey Subs." I discovered this place about ten years ago and when I am in the area, I often find myself heading here for a meal. Be warned prior, most are attached to gas stations. But don't let that stop you from trying their food. This is far beyond gas station food. Their subs are great, especially when factoring in the price. A half sub (and they are huge, so this should be more than enough for a meal), is anywhere from $3.99 up to $6.39, with most firmly in the middle of five and change. I opted for the #7, the Baldino's Special, and lucked out when it was on special on this day. Normally, $5.29 (still a great price), it was on special for $3.99. And look at the pic, look at all you get for under five bucks. I strongly recommend this place. Good food for a great price. How can you go wrong with a combination like that?

We went to Baldino's upon the recommendation of a friend. When we first saw the place, I wanted to leave, but we thought we'd check it out anyway because it is so popular with folks in the area. Glad I gave it a try, because for the money you can't beat the amount of food you get. I ordered an American sub, half portion, and couldn't finish it because there was just so much meat piled on it. Also, the bread is better than that at any other sub place I've been to. I'll definitely go back!

The staff that greeted us was very nice and accommodating with our reservation and the time moved quickly to get us seated. The place and the kitchen were extra busy to be expected...The problem I have was with the service... if you have read any of my reviews it has to be rough ..because I am service team defender #1. She made several apologies ...understood... BUT... and this is my problem especially if you have worked on tips and it's not a normal service day... even if the kitchen is backed up - at least keep the contact with your table, water glass and coffee cup filled.. and before we start to defend the service she had 3 tables at the most and we had to ask several times IF we even saw her on the floor... for coffee or water. At times she would just walk by and not even make an attempt to check. Look I get it and I'm not here to bash but when you are spending $$ the wait is easier if you have a full drink and some interaction with the staff. (I don't need to be baby sat) Here's what hurts... we have frequented ABE for over 10 years starting in PCB. After an hour of sitting, the food finally rolled out. The beignets were doughy on the inside. The crab cake Benedict was soggy... the potato's were lukewarm, the grits were good not going to beat everything up and when we could get coffee it was great... I watched her other tables (because I had Plenty of time while staying engaged with my people) and it was obvious they were having the same experience. OK the bail out... will we go back "yes" probably not on a holiday... LOL. It could have been a bad day for her... it could be she's new.. based on their standards... overall for me it was disappointing and not the best experience... what's redeeming is when the mother of your children is gracious and forgiving...

But we did not let that deter us and we went in and used the electronic device to get us on a waiting list. We were told 15 minutes, but we waited no more than 10. I am going to take into consideration the massive crowd, and say that our food and drink came in very reasonable time considering. We were not in a hurry, and kind of enjoy the bustle and the people. Our waitress was exceedingly friendly, very helpful and very accommodating. My friend and I each got a fancy Sunday brunch cocktail. Mine was strawberry, and it was delicious. She loved hers as well, she got the grapefruit one. They were lovely to look at and delicious and refreshing. A very fun way to start our Sunday morning. We both ordered the California club sandwich and I asked for gluten-free bread. The sandwich was delicious and the gluten-free bread was good. If you know about gluten-free bread and the heartache of searching for a decent slice, then you'll appreciate this bread on your sandwich. I got french fries which seems I have to order every single time even as I contemplate the healthier side choices. They were great, hot, fresh, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. My friend got a side salad which she was happy with, obviously far more willpower than I have. She was not happy with the dressing she had chosen and the waitress happily brought her a different one. While we were there, I noticed everybody was working so hard and the customers all around us seem to be very much enjoying themselves. I don't know if this should really be relevant in my review but there was a group of four people who were sat down in a table nearby who upon being seated asked the waitress immediately if they could get their food quickly and she told them that it probably would not be as fast as they would like it. At which point they got up and left. The waitress seemed to feel bad about that, but when the manager came over to investigate, he simply took it in stride and then started to clean the table off for the next group. My friend and I had to wonder who would come into such a bustling and packed restaurant and think that they were going to get served especially fast. Another thing about we noticed about the manager is that he seemed very much hands-on and all over the place in the restaurant. He was very friendly when we looked at the check-in device and wondered what we were doing ~ he made jokes that made us feel less Luddite like. He bussed tables and sat people, and checked on things, and generally looked like the kind of manager of that Gordon Ramsay would appreciate. The menu has something for everybody! And some very exciting options that we have to go back and experience. Lots of add-ons for everything, a huge variety of choices. My sister-in-law had recommended the avocado toast, and I was tempted. I was also tempted by the biscuit and gravy and the eggs Benedict, which are hard for me to resist at brunch. but I reasonably only ordered one meal for me. It's been a long review, but I have to say the meal really was that good and the whole experience was very enjoyable. Not only will I be going back but, I will be recommending it, wholeheartedly, to everybody. Thanks for a great meal!
