The new park manager is extremely difficult to work with and I have never been so offended for the way they treated our family with Disabilities!!!! They clearly only care about $$$ over people and it is disgusting!! Between our family we reserved 2 campsites and a cabin for over a week a month in advance, $900 in camping fees. One site had my parent's camper on it and both of my parents are disabled...dad had his leg amputated but both parents need assistance with almost every activity all the time. Called the campground at the time of reservation to make sure we would be able to have a tent on the same site for me and my sister to help with assisting them and was told that would not be a problem. Arrived to the campground at 3 in the afternoon - completely set up camp and tent on that site. 10 PM at night the manager came through the park and stopped us at the site stating we were not able to stay in the tent because we were not under 13. Told us we had to take down the tent and leave or buy another site...when we explained that we called and got approval along with the fact that both parents were disabled we were still told to either take down tent or we were going to be removed from the park!!! WHAT...ARE YOU KIDDING ME. IT WAS DARK!!! Absolutely ridiculous!!!! We ended up having to tear everything down, load up and drive home at 11pm!!! There was only 4 people on the site total...disabled parents, me and my sister! We were not loud or doing anything inappropriate. There was absolutely no accommodation since we already had approval to stay with our disabled parents. THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE EVER!! DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY TO CAMP HERE!!

A pleasant wooded setting not far from Baldwin. Amenities are sparse (though you came to a state…read moreforest campground so you probably know that), but the outhouses were clean, pumps gushed the aqua without straining your muscles, and the picnic tables were in good repair. While its comforts are limited, it's much quieter than some of the better appointed campgrounds nearer town. Leverentz Lake SFCG is divided into two sections, the Little Leverentz Lake (really not much more than a pond) and Big Leverentz Lake (really more of a large pond) units. I generally prefer Big Leverentz, as there are some cabins bordering close on the Little Leverntz unit and I prefer a little more seclusion. There's a single home on Big Leverentz across from the campground, otherwise the shores are wooded and wild. Spotted some loons there one morning on a recent visit. There's a fishing pier as well as a boat launch on Big Leverentz. A 4.5 mile hiking trail loops through surrounding woods and wetlands, with several access points in the campground. Sites are generously sized, and many can accommodate trailers. Most aren't completely level, typical for rustic campgrounds, but tent campers can probably find enough level-ish ground for comfortable sleeping. Baldwin is one of Michigan's great outdoor recreation destinations, and if you're happy with rustic accommodations, Leverentz Lake is a good base for exploring it.

They are very analytical as well and go after the fish in the right temperature and make sure they are using the right color and keep in touch with the other captains on the lake to see what's working. I have been fishing all over the country and this is one of the best equipped boats I've seen. We went out for king Salmon 3 times with these guys and we weren't disappointed. We caught Kings all three trips and they worked so hard with 12-14 poles out trolling at once. The boat deck was very comfortable and of course it had a bathroom on board. The gear, poles, rigs, electronics and downriggers where all top knotch. Kudos to these guys...price was very reasonably priced compared to other charters I've been on. We had a blast and can't wait to get back. He gave me a $50 gift certificate to the microbrewery in town as well. I was alone in a boat half the size of his fighting a 25# fish when he came towards me to within 50 feet demanding to tell him what depth and color my fish came at before he would turn away. My boat was on autopilot so it wasn't like I was weaving around. He intentionally targeted my space just to be an asshole and thought he was being funny. Don't use him if you're a real sportsman!
