Having rented canoes from several other places across the country, I can't say I've ever been as impressed as I was with Baldwin Canoe Rental. They were AWESOME!!! Since we were staying at Bowman Bridge Campground on the Marquette River, my wife and I wanted to avoid driving back and forth between Baldwin at the start and end of our trip, especially after a few delicious river Oberons. I sent them an email and Troy was quick to respond. They were able to pick us up at our campsite the next morning (on time!) and take us straight to the launch. Not needing to stop in the rental office was greatly appreciated as was the fact that they take care of the river permits for you! Even better was that when we got back to the campground, we didn't need to call and wait for a pickup. We simply put the canoe up on a rack and continued on with our day! It looked like they have staff and buses at each of the major stops of the river, ready to help out and transport any groups as they came in and every employee we ran into was super friendly. Seriously, I can't say enough about how great of a livery this place was! It's a seriously well-run operation that made our little weekend getaway so much more enjoyable! read more

Great service! Efficient with getting you to your tubing/canoeing location. Our tubes were of better quality than I have experienced in the past, which was good, and necessary as the Pere Marquette River is colder and dodgier than other rivers. The Pere Marquette is one COLD river!! SHOOT!! I liked that Balwin Canoe Rental had the necessary items for us to enjoy our time on the river. All in all, even though I may not return to that particular river, BCR did their job to the highest standards! read more

Great people, new owners. Pick a canoe, raft, even a floating chair to fish from. A bus takes you to the drop off, then picks you up a few miles down river. This was my first river trip, and I was a bit nervous taking a raft out with my 6 year old and my brother in laws family. It was mildly challenging getting around the bends, but we had more fun than anything else. Plan for at least 3 hours of lazy river floating interrupted by moments of heavy paddling around turns. After about an hour, everybody gets the hang of it! Afterward, friendly faces greet you at the landing and shuttle you back to the starting point. They tag and hold your car keys before you go, so if you lose everything else(I lost my shirt, no biggie, got a new one from the gift shop!) you will be able to get home! It's a wonderful way to spend an afternoon in nature. Have fun! read more

I can't say enough wonderful things about how great Baldwin canoe rental was for our overnight kayak trip. Troy was very thorough in helping us plan our trip including the duration and where to stay for the evening. They made the process so easy by dropping us off on the river and driving our car to our final destination. We were able to leave our kayaks and head out as soon as we were done. The water levels were really high so they had to send us out in a raft our first day. He had known we initially wanted to rent kayaks, so he found us at the camp ground that evening to ask if we wanted him to drop off kayaks for the next day instead. They went above and beyond to make our trip perfect. We will definitely be back! read more

My son and I rented Kayaks from them to spend a day on the Pere Marquette river. Overall, great experience. The office was very clean and professional. They even held our keys, which was a nice additional benefit. Drivers and workers all very courteous. The river itself was wonderful, very calm and an easy float. Not many places to pull aside due to most of the area being privately owned it seemed. All in all though a great experience. read more

My wife and I used Baldwin Canoe Rental company to Kayak the Pere Marquette River on a quiet weekday. They are the only Canoe Rental serving the permitted section of the Pere Marquette National Scenic River. We kayaked what they call Section 1 from M-37 to Bowman bridge They had a wide selection of canoes and kayaks in great shape. We choose the Riviera sit-on-top kayaks. Christian helped us and answered all of our questions and explained the river and what the paddling options were. Many thanks to a great company focused on the customer and Christian is the best. My family of four had sucha great time on the pere marquette river. The people at the baldwin canoe rental have a great and very organized business. We got there set up our canoe trip (we rented a larger canoe for all of us to fit in) and we were on the river in less than 1/2 an hour. They take you across the street on a bus to the river drop off. The river was very pretty but the only thing was they said it was a 3 hour trip to the first stop and it ended up being more like 4 hours. Which was a little much for us, but we had fun no matter what. They have another bus pickup at the end that brings you back to your car at the business. We though they did a great job! read more

We had an excellent time on the river it was a beautiful day... Canoe was clean n well maintained!!! When we arrived we were taken right to the river n picked up right on time as well!!! The ONLY thing that makes me want to EVER come back to this Busniess is the guy that drove us to the river and picked us up......During a misunderstanding with myself n my husband my phone got throw away......I instantly started crying cause of all the pictures of my recently passed grandmothers n new Babies that i would never get back.......he immediately thurned around n we got my phone YEAAAAA!!!!! When we returned to the office....my friend n i walked in to hear the "owner" talking about the bus driver in a negative manner....i tried to tell him how amazing his employee was n all he could say was "Well he never should of went back for it because 12 ppl were waiting to b picked up"......really he couldn't say thank u or even b appreciate the compassion of his employee??? Also he thew r coolers out of the bus....i realize 12 ppl were more $ than the 4 in our group but still no reason to b a douch!!!! I even said hopefully he doesn't get in trouble for doing the right thing n he laughed n said "yeah"!! read more
