My parents picked this place for our Boxing Day dinner since it's one of their favorite restaurants. Obviously, the menu is extremely meat-heavy which isn't that great if you are not eating any meat, but I had planned to just order one of their fish options, so no problem. Once we arrived though, we received a special holiday menu to choose from instead of the regular one and the special menu had absolutely zero vegetarian or fish options. Every single dish included meat. We asked if we could do a custom order and they told us no and that we could only order what's on the menu. After we advised the waitress that we don't eat any meat, she just looked at us as if we are crazy and then she shrugged and said we could order a salad and one of the sides. I went for some fries and the salad, but asked for hard boiled eggs and tuna in it and was told frostily "No extras! Just mixed salad, that's it!" I was dumbfounded. Really? You don't have eggs and canned tuna in the kitchen?? After a rather long wait, we then received our food and my parents' food looked great. But my 'large' salad was just slightly bigger than the appetizer salad my parents got. It featured lettuce, some cabbage, 1 slice of tomatoes and 2 slices of cucumber. My order of fries was a handful of fries on a big dinner plate. Talk about a sad Christmas dinner. In the end, I bought a sandwich at the 24-h shop at our hotel to avoid going to bed hungry. read more
