Location: Ball Honda is located off the 54 or 5 depending on where you are coming from. It is a little confusing as there is a Ball Used dealership or two different addresses from my gps but over all pretty easy to figure out. Parking...well that was a little different when I went there wasn't much room to park my trade in the actual lot of parking spaces so I had to park on the street again no big deal but through this mention it Incase someone has a preference. It's a convenient location for South Bay Area. Customer Service: Well, they were amazing. From the moment I walked in Javier acknowledge me and took my information down right away. I like to plan ahead of time so I had all of my paper work with me. Asked me which car I was interested in looking at and took me to see those almost immediately maybe 4 minutes or so, we went on a test drive and by the time I was back I met with I believe his name was Bernard (oh goodness I can't remember!) but he was the Costco rep since I did want to use the Costco auto program. He was very informative and was VERY patient with me. I had a lot of questions and concerns and defiantly wanted the best price possible and man did he get it for me! All the guys at Ball Honda National City were amazing, Javier, Bernardo, Diego who took my application to the finance guy Renato! They were all amazing I can't rave about them enough. Overall: I am beyond pleased with not only the service and quality of staff but the efficiency! I arrive at 2:30pm and left by 5:50pm... 2 hrs and 20 minutes is not bad AT ALL. This is the worst, most disrespectful service place ever. If you read all their bad reviews they all state the same thing. They don't care about their customers; they are condescending and rude. I have had to come here several times and have NEVER had a good experience with them. Recently I made a 7 AM appt to have my check engine light diagnosed. I was told that I would need to leave it all day just to determine what was wrong with it (not to fix it) and it would be $240. He was rude and condescending. I was waiting for my ride, and noticed they never even moved my car. They took all the other cars first. What good was an appt? I told them to cancel the order. I took my car to Autozone who diagnosed the check engine light in less than 5 mins for FREE. The code it was showing was a code covered under an extended warranty. When I took it back to Ball, again I was told it would take them all day, and I would still need to pay $240 for them to run their own diagnostic. They called at the end of the day, and said even though it was showing that code, it was a different part, and that would be $3500. I paid the $240 and took my car to a very honest, good mechanic. You always leave Ball Honda feeling slimy, and taken advantage of. Even when I went to pay the cashier, she didn't talk or smile. No one gives a shit here. my elderly parents took their brand new Honda hrv for an inspection of the faulty cabin pressure and misaligned windows, yet the service advisor refused service in the most disrespectful and unprofessional manner possible. I have purchased many vehicles throughout my lifetime and have used other dealerships services and have never had any issues whatsoever, so it is really frustrating that a big name dealership wouldn't even assist them or given them any advice on what to do or where to go to resolve the problem. I would give this place negative stars if I could. I love having a Honda but I hate coming here. Every goddamn time I'm here, I'm made to feel like a nuisance. No matter who my appointments are scheduled with, I usually get set up with Dave and he's always so condescending, making me feel stupid with every word he says. No matter what the issue is with my car, he makes me feel like I'm an idiot and I don't appreciate it, no matter how "real" he keeps it. I'm there stressed out enough about my car, the last thing I need is to feel like a dumbass. The last time I was there, I had a 1:45 appointment for an electrical concern. I was helped and situated around 2 and so I set up camp, just waiting patiently in the dealership lobby. Mind you, the appointment was for a diagnosis so I'm sure they could diagnose my car before they close, which would've been at 5. At around 4:15 I was called and told that they wouldn't have enough time to inspect my car. First of all, what the shit were you guys doing for the first two hours? Eating a sandwich? Second of all, if they close at 5, why would they give up on my car so early? I don't know about you, but if I'm scheduled until 5, I'm leaving at 5. It doesn't seem right to me. And third of all, if the diagnosis would take that long to begin with, why wasn't I told earlier? I wasted my goddamn time for nothing. I took the day off work and missed out on making money so I can sit at Honda for nearly 3 hours. And for them to tell me absolutely nothing. That's this goddamn place in a nutshell. Just the lot of them walking around from one place to another, seeming like they're doing something important, just to go back to their cubicles to talk about absolutely nothing. No help whatsoever. I hate this place so much and I've tolerated them for much too long. (Husky mexican guy) I first went to try and find a Honda Civic 2022 Touring but nothing in stock due to the shortage. I left after going to 2 other dealerships in hope of finding my car. Fast forward the manager Mr. Brown had me take a seat. I wait one hour after waiting an hour. I go check to see if the finance guy available now the whole time he was sitting down in the lobby with the other sales men, watching the football game cheering and having a great time; while me the consumer is waiting. I talk to finance and he's not even helpful. You would think that people who are currently working under Covid would be interested in helping consumers but instead they offer you very bad service and he's getting paid to waste peoples time. Long story short, you're dead to them after you sign the forms. First, they failed to disable the ridiculous and outdated KARR alarm system that I did not ask them to install, so after they delivered the car it wouldn't move. It spent the night halfway in the street because apparently 90 minutes is too close to closing for anyone to answer their phones. Of course, I didn't know it was just the alarm, so I was worried I had a lemon. They fixed it, but this ended up costing me half a day of work and the box is still there. They also installed it by permanently drilling into the interior and tapping the wire harness. Then I discovered a fairly large cosmetic defect. It's a long scratch, and is clearly a defect as it extends under another body piece, so could have only been made during assembly. It's on a plastic piece and can't be touched up. I sent pics and they told me they'd fix it but needed to confirm. I brought it in, they took more pics and notes, and told me they'd call me back. Two days later they told me the repair was approved. I went back again and left my car with them. Two days later the service advisor called and told me that the sales manager (Mike) had "Declined Service" because it was going to cost them too much to replace the plastic, which is absurd given that cost is Honda Corporate's. Cost is, of course, irrelevant, as I paid a lot of money for a brand new car. Defects are unavoidable, but must be corrected. Regardless, they had already assessed the defect and told me the repair was approved. They tried to get me to go away by applying (or claiming to have applied) Resistall without my consent. I had already applied PowerLock, so now both sealants are probably shot. I asked them to look at two other things when I brought the car in. The car was making a weird high pitched whine, which I've now learned is inherent to the new eCVT. I told them when I brought it up that it could just be my ears adjusting to the hybrid, which it was. The other issue is a bigger problem. The driver's side mirror vibrates excessively. This is a known issue on forums, and recalls have been issued for other Honda vehicles. They completely denied the existence of both the noise and the vibration. I reported that these issues happen at freeway speeds. They are located about 1.5 miles from the freeway. During the time my car was at the dealer, the odometer only went up 5 miles. Do the math, and they couldn't have spent more than 2 minutes attempting to diagnose the problems. They also claimed to have taken it out multiple times with multiple techs, which is obviously a lie. Honda Corporate wouldn't help me, but it took them 3 weeks to tell me that. Apparently Ball doesn't just ignore customer phone calls, but also phone calls from American Honda. If an acquaintance of mine EVER indicates that they are considering buying a car from Ball, I will steer them away. When I'm at a point where I can afford a nicer car, I'll be buying an Acura from Poway or Mission Valley Honda. If you buy a car here, you're gambling. read more

Ok, not a big problem since it was one of those A1 oil changes BUT Ball Honda is waaaay different from the dealership I got my car from (no names here because I love my salesman who helped me). The last time I got my oil changed at the "other" dealership, first off, they DON'T answer the phone, at all. And don't return messages. I've been trying to get an appointment for a week. Left messages, etc. Dumb me, I thought we had to get service from the same dealership I bought my CRV from. NOPE! Called Ball Honda right away to confirm I could go to any dealership. First of all, an actual person answered and answered my questions. I asked my co worker to give me a ride because the first oil change at the "other" dealership took almost over 2 hours, on a weekday. No customer service, no check in about how much longer it would be. Nothing with the other place. I was really shocked by Dave's customer service (at the other place, it was an assembly line of miserable customers pissed off, drinking free coffee for 2 hours). The team over at Ball Honda in National City are easily at the top of their class in the realm of Car Dealerships. It takes a lot of organization for an establishment to run things smoothly and at Ball Honda, there was not one bump in the road (excuse the pun). The internet sales representative team and I had probably about 30+ emails back n forth. Every inquiry I had was answered within 5-15 minutes (during business hours). They were competitive and friendly in their price-matching and gave me the best deal out of all the Honda dealerships in ALL of San Diego including Irvine. It seemed as if they just really wanted me to be happy. Then as soon as I came on the lot to finalize the deal, the staff were personable, as if we had been long-lost friends. Yes, I am a friendly person, but I can sense when someone is making me feel uncomfortable right away- and I never felt that here as I did at another (unmentioned) car dealership. I made a few mistakes on my paper-work (since it was my first time) in the financial department, but even that they were able to easily fix and accommodate. The care, attention to detail, and customer service was incredible. I was in the market to buy a new car for my dad, I prayed for a good deal and car-buying experience and was led to Ball Honda. If you take care of your vehicle as much as I do, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not bring your vehicle to Ball Honda of National City to get serviced. My A/C had stopped working and I received a letter from Honda for an extra 10 year warranty extension for the A/C condenser, cause apparently Honda made the 2018 Honda Accords with a faulty condenser. My wanna-be "Service Advisor" was Eduardo Servin and the wanna-be "Tech" was David Angulo. Eduardo called me to tell me that the issue with the A/C was the condenser and they would replace at no cost because of the extended warranty. On top of that, he said I needed tires and brakes, and needed my permission to go ahead and do the brakes. We all know the dealer charges an arm and a leg for service, so I denied because I knew I could get the work done cheaper somewhere else. He called me back 15-20 minutes later saying that unfortunately I also needed a compressor for the A/C which would cost me $2,146, since apparently the compressor was not covered under the warranty. At this point, I knew I was being taken advantage of for being a woman and assuming I know nothing about cars and repairs. I told him to just finish with the condenser and I would be there with my dad or fiancé. He said he still had to charge me for the diagnostic fee, I told him it was pathetic because part of the problem WAS the condenser which had to get replaced and should be under warranty. Once I got there with my dad, he denied ever telling me I had to pay the diagnostic fee, of course because I showed up with a man. The next day, I took my car to another shop and they told me the issue was NOT the compressor, the problem was that the dealer had overcharged it. That shop charged me $199 because they had a coupon to do the diagnostic and fix. My A/C is completely fixed now. Ball Honda needs to train their techs better because they do not know what the hell they're doing. Horrible customer service right from the beginning. They need to pay me my $199 back, if they knew what they were doing I wouldn't have spent a cent, I'll take it up with corporate. read more

I bought my very first car here mid March after my brother had purchased his. I went to the same lady (Lea) he bought his car from. Since my brother referred me to her, she threw in the tint for my car but had to come in when convenient for me. We were off to a good start but as soon as we wanted to drive it off the lot we noticed scratches already on the car. We let Lea know before leaving and she seemed in a rush to get us off the lot already so she said not to worry about it but to take pictures and to come in the following week so they can fix it and to do my tints all at once. What a hassle it has been just to get these things done. Lea made it sound like a sure thing for me to come in on a certain day to get my things done. Since I work, my brother offered on his day off to take my car for me...it has been about 4 MONDAYS IN A ROW that my brother has went down to the dealership and there has always been something from them (mainly Lea) that has stopped us from getting my car done. She had told us a specific time to come in the first time and then when my brother gets there, Lea tells him the guys who does the tint has called out.. the next Monday, Lea isn't there, when she could have called us to let us know since she said she wanted to be there and "keep an eye" on the car. The third attempt, it was drizzling that day but stopped later on and the gentleman working at that time (Jose, servicing department) said they would not be able to do the tint on the window due to the rain, which makes sense. But then Lea said just to come back a couple hours later to then coming back those few hours later and telling us they can't do it. After Lea telling us that, my brother spoke with Jose again and he mentioned to us that either way we were not in the system for an appointment for the tints. I was thinking this whole time that Leah had put us down in the system for an appointment it made Jose and the servicing department look bad when it was her doing. My brother had told Jose that one of the previous Mondays he has gone that someone called out and Jose said that that wasn't true, Lea had LIED to us about one of the guys called out! I've been so eager to get my window tint and she's been giving us the run around. She had always insisted for us to come at a specific time each time but to be turned away. Finally that day my brother made an appointment for today May 3, The car did not finish in time so it is staying there until the next day but I do not have a car for work so we had to call Jose to see if he would be able to give us a rental for the day and he had mentioned to us that Lea had given another customer their last rental car even after he had told her that I had needed it since the car was not going to be ready. Jose was nice enough to stay after his time to find a car for me to use for work the next day!! Do not go with Lea or trust anything she says! She makes promises she can't keep and will just give you the run around! So horrible. read more

The male representative said that I only needed the VIN number, I made sure, and verified with the representative that I wouldn't need anything else than possibly a ID.. once I arrived I decided to stay behind with the kids and have my husband (who is African American) take care of this matter. He was rudely interrogated, discriminated, racially profiled and in the end refused service. Frustrated, I had switch places with my husband with the benefit of the doubt it was be anything but discrimination and racial profiling,as soon as I went in, I only gave a vin number and was given a key without having to show proof of ownership , or even identification.
