It's the type of place you can hang around on late nights without fear of shady people or getting mugged. Their playground isn't only built for kids, there's even a section where you can "gym", they built makeshift exercise contraptions for those up for a workout or if you're too ashamed to be seen in the kiddie area. In the center is a beautiful Gazebo filled with benches where a big group can hangout and have picnics, play games, or do nothing together; it's the perfect place to just space out. The only problem is that mosquitoes seem to like hanging out there as well, so be sure to spray yourself thoroughly with insect repellant before you decide to visit.

I think it's more because of the ambiance that lures me to go the park multiple times. It's relaxing to be in an area that's full of greenery. Sometimes my friends and I would prepare snacks and create picnics at the park! I remember once when one of my photographer friends wanted to have a shoot in Mahogany because of the nice scenery! It's actually fun there. One side, kids (and not kids at heart) can play with the sand while the bigger kids can swing and slide. Every time I'm here I remember times when life was just so carefree. Oh how it's nice reminisce those good old days. Nowadays I see a lot more kids with her helpers in the Park. I'm glad that kids are not bound to their iPads and they're actually running around open field enjoying nature.

There is a large green space with trees lined about so she can pretend there's a forest. The playground features a kiddie gym with slides and a bridge. She can play on it for hours thinking it's a castle. There are also a few other playground sets surrounding the gym and feature seesaws, rocking horses/trucks, smaller slide sets and a pair of swings. The place also has a basketball court in the back, clean bathrooms because of the rentable clubhouse and well yeah, a clubhouse you can rent for parties. The park is also fairly empty except in the late afternoons but it's never as chaotic as the one in Salcedo. There's a mini grocery nearby and a branch of Becky's Kitchen so you can grab juice and brownies after a tiring afternoon of playing.

The park is one of the things my daughter and I love about the move because of the playground. Situated in the middle of greenery, the playground features padded flooring and a nice jungle gym set. My daughter loves the slides and the rope bridge. At first, she was hesitant to cross it because the spaces between the ropes were too big for her little toddler feet. She started out by crawling across, then she got more confident and started walking on it. Me and my mommy milestones! *tear* There are a number of parent-child or yaya-child tandems that hang out here, too. It usually doesn't fill up until around 2 or 3 pm, but coming by earlier isn't too hot as well because of all the trees that shade the playground. Aside from that, there are jogging and biking paths around the park. The main function hall, which can be split into two smaller areas or opened up to become one big room, is located by the driveway. It seems like there's a birthday that happens there every weekend so if you plan to rent the place out, make a reservation well ahead of time. Sunday masses are also held here. There's a basketball, tennis, and badminton court on the premises as well. There's a convenience store, a tutorial center, laundry service, and a Metrobank ATM, too. The convenience store closes at around 8 pm, from my observation.

The play strategy is dependent on the type of kid you have. If you have a little one is excited to start off and has a lot of energy, go through the Playmaze first. This is similar to an active gym for kids, it has a lot of places for running, jumping, hiding. The area has slides, ball pits and some obstacle courses. If your kid leans more toward the more relaxed play, go through the Mini Village first. There, you'll find a great area where everything is kid-sized. Let your child's imagination run while with the areas for pretend play. There's St. Noah's Hospital, The Village Shoppe, Sweet Kei's Café, The Country Barn, Station 123, Tyler's Builders, Kidzville High and Jojo's Garage. Each area is interactive, where kids can practice sorting, stacking, pet farm animals, pretend to cook or be a fireman or a doctor, sit quietly in a classroom or play with the real Volkswagen Beetle. Both the play area and the mini village are very well thought off. It's a great place for kids between 3 to 5 years old, but will also work well for younger ones with a little hand holding. Crossing between the two area is easy. Socks are required for both kids and adults and non-playing adults need to pay. (They have rates for 30 mins, 1 hour and unlimited. Adult pass is P120).

If you find yourself in this mall, your kid is in need of some stimulation and you need some alone time as well, consider dropping off your kid here for a few hours. Check on him/her every hour or so and you should be all set.

Tablets and other gadgets are being freely given to these kids and in turn, they become perfectly content with staying in their rooms all day. Our outdoor culture is already diminishing and what better way to bring it back than to take children to the farm? Holding baby pigs, fishing, riding carabaos, feeding rabbits- these are just some of the things that your kids can experience at the Sta. Elena Fun Farm. I see this place as a quick retreat from the city, a breather from the traffic, buildings and all the asphalt that has enveloped Manila. It doesn't take so long to get there and once you reach the place, you'll fall in love with it. Tips: 1. Take the kids here on a weekend complete with a picnic basket. 2. Entrance is P300 for kids and adults. Any kid below 2 years old is free. 3. Lolos and lolas get discounts too!

There's lots of opportunities to interact with animals here: feeding rabbits and hamsters, catching fish, meeting friendly carabaos and pot-beliied pigs, and riding proper sized horses (not like those tiny ponies in Tagaytay). My favorite thing to do here is to climb up a wall as fast as possible (I time each new attempt), scramble back down the other side of the tower on sloping tree trunks, then try out the hurdles. Then when I'm properly exhausted, I relax on a tire swing and watch ducklings waddle past. Points for all the obstacles being constructed from materials sourced right on the property. Outdoor markets are occasionally held here, which are a great place to pick up organic greens and local crafts. Throw in performances from OPM artists when the sun goes down and even a samba troupe, and you get a great summer party. This little pocket of green trees and fresh air is only 40 minutes away from Metro Manila, making it the perfect escape for those who are sick of the concrete jungle and want to stretch their limbs and clear their heads.

I've seen the 'Wakepark' signs but didn't really know where it is, maybe because I wasn't looking hard enough. Or I just have just looked it up online to see the map. And it's something that's fun to experience together as a group (individually if we're being specific but you get what I'm saying). I love these types of things because I know everyone gets tired of doing the same old thing and with Nuvali being about an hour or less drive away from Metro Manila, it's the perfect thing to do. If you don't think it's for you and you're being invited to come along then you can always go and stay at the bar or at the pool, take pictures and hang out.

It is in a great location and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves water sports within the South area. However, the rentals for boards are quite expensive and are very limited to only a couple of boards if you have grown out of the slip-on boards. The food service takes quite awhile for you to get your food. Putting that aside, this is a place that I would highly recommend anyone to come to for a day mainly just for the awesome facility to wakeboard. It's also best to go during the weekdays early in the morning so that you can get the most out of your buck, or else you would be in line for quite awhile as that takes up your riding time. Night boarding on the weekends are also enjoyable and are less crowded than during the day based on my experience from going.

Cafe-UK is one of those cafes that manages to establish it's own identity able to set itself apart from the generic or those that aspire to be a copycat of Starbucks. They have tea, coffee, juice, and a wide variety of American canned drinks that you won't find in your local grocery. There's a lot of food to choose from. They're a bit pricey, but the size and the taste will more than make up for it. Cafe UK has some of the best cakes I've ever had. Their cakes come in the form of a slice or a mini cake. I love the fact that they offer several kinds of cheesecake with the triple chocolate cheesecake being my favorite, I mean it's cheesecake and chocolate come on! Cafe UK is open 24 hours, and becomes a great places to study at around nine in the evening. Things are quiet at this hour up to around ten in the morning the following day, at which point it becomes a melting pot for the different students from the different schools that populate Mendiola. Wi-fi is free, which is probably another reason why so many students love to congregate at this awesome cafe. The biggest quirk that this cafe has that I don't find anywhere else are the free to use iPads. Never have I walked into a cafe that has free to use iPads, These iPads are ingeniously built into the table, I often find students spending a lot of their time drinking their orders and playing the latest games on Cafe UK's tablet. Free WiFi, excellent food and drinks, wonderful prompt service, and the tablets allows Cafe UK to deliver a great experience. Go for a visit sometime and I promise you that it'll be time and money well spent.
