The lounge is warm and inviting with a wood fire burning and lots of comfortable chairs to relax in. We ate in the bar, there is also a restaurant, great choice of food which was excellent. Again service was very good. Our bedroom was amazing! The king bed was very comfortable, the room spacious and beautifully decorated with an en-suite bathroom. I would absolutely recommend the Bein Inn Hotel. It is charming and welcoming, fabulous service and great food, perfect for everyone! Will definitely be returning. High level of cleanliness and even on a wednesday at 1pm there were a fair few tables full. We were seated and shown the menu, ordered a drink and the specials were explained with enthusiasm. We ordered and mentioned that we had a voucher and this was dealt with without issue. Main course arrived within 15 minutes and was piping hot, well presented and delicious. The Dalwhinnie is an unuual, historic Inn located in the Cairngorms National Park, offering more-than-comfortable accommodation. They rent out mountain bikes too and also have drying facilities for wet clothes, which we found to be a massive bonus! One of the best assets of this hotel is in the lounge on the upper floor - it has a fully glazed wall, affording magnificent views over the River Truim toward the Cairngorms, and is truely spectacular. The relaxing river-side restaurant serves deliciously fulfilling food, with a wide & varied menu, and the staff provide wonderful service. Arrive late in the evening and watch the shadows creep across the wide vista of the Loch: Rise at dawn and watch the sun burn the early morning mist from the water's surface. Make time to arrange a visit to the nearby distillery; but beware too many samples, as your short journey back to the Inn may require more than a steadying hand!! But make sure you buy a bottle or two of the malt. Should you return again you will feel as though you are coming home or visiting an old and close friend. Perhaps too big, as my room felt almost cavernous with its sparse furniture, typical of a Travelodge chain room. My large bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was good, with a bath and a shower, and my stay was quiet and relaxing. The staff are friendly and with the hotel in a good location and at a budget cost, you can't argue with this hotel!

The staff were really friendly, there was always someone on the front desk that was always happy to help. on the saturday night, the young girl was really helpful, as we didnt want to go out for a meal, we just wanted to stay in, so she gave us the yellow pages to look at to get something delivlered straight to the room, most places dont usually let you do that. the room was so nice and warm, and there was pleanty of clean towels and bedding, and everything was lovely. we are planning on staying again.

I'd also recommend the 'Haggis, Neeps & Tatties' (Haggis, mashed potatoes and mashed turnips) all with a nice gravy. We've never had Haggis before and all enjoyed it. It's like a peppered meat loaf. I like that they have flights of beer available, so you can try 3 different local brews from tap at one time. We also had the 'bread & butter pudding' which was satisfactory (not great but good). We loved the open fire smell. All was moderately priced.
