I'd heard about the acoustics, but you really have to experience it to believe it. It doesn't matter where you're sitting--the sound seems absolutely perfect. I felt like I was completely enveloped in the performance. It was a I've got goosebumps moment. Beyond the main hall, there's so much to explore, from the art museum to the restaurants, all with these killer lake views. It's a complete cultural experience in one stunning location. Unfortunately I was too mesmerized to take any pics of the inside.. I guess ill have to run it all over again in my own head.. lol..

We were hot and tired and they welcomed us with ice-cold infused water and cool towels. They treated our kids like royalty. Our room was perfect - I believe it was a "family suite" room 404. So large and spacious with lots of air conditioning. Housekeeping twice a day kept things clean, stocked, and orderly. The breakfast was in a beautiful room with all the fruits and pastries and eggs and meats you can imagine. The hotel is in an excellent location for walking, dining, and shopping. It was the best stay of our whole trip and we would be thrilled to return!

Design is clearly a high priority--everywhere you look, the architecture, interiors, furniture, décor, are nothing short of artful. And they are done to cleverly mash-up the history and modernity. It's almost like staying in a museum--it's so beautiful. They have a farm they use to supply a lot of the food across the property and the food is spectacular. The breakfast spread and hot menu items, in particular, were one of the best I've seen--everything was so tasty. They also treated us to a welcome amenity that was a selection of sweet and savory snacks they made. And, we visited their bar, which is also gorgeous with an incredible menu. My partner is celiac and so we need strict gluten free with no cross-contamination to keep him safe. The hotel took this seriously from the moment I asked the concierge for help. The breakfast team was very helpful with navigating the options, and even brought him gluten free bread. Our server in the bar seemed to understand the issue and take it seriously. And, they even managed to make the in-room welcome amenity gluten free for him, which I would have never expected. We felt very safe with their team.

Breakfast was included with my room (very affordable rate on booking.com), and was an extremely satisfying and tasty array: sliced meats, hot hard boiled eggs, breads & pastries, jams & honey, yogurt & cereals, juices, etc. And good hot coffee & hot milk delivered to my table :) My room (second floor at rear of hotel) was tidy, clean, quiet and comfortable. Location is really great - short walk from the main tran station and then short walk to the old town restaurants, coffee shops and shopping.

The positives: the rooms are contemporary and quiet, the Oerlikon rail station is literally across the street, there's a Migros grocery chain directly in front of the hotel entrance & the hotel's Le Muh is pretty good (especially for breakfast). Some tips: guests should join the loyalty program for free internet service. The gym & indoor pool is located on the top floor & is open 24 hrs. It's in a smaller side (small space) but if you don't mind that don't let that turn you away. 6. The only reason I'm giving this a 4 is because we found the temperature to be on the warmer side there were no windows, so we couldn't open to let a cool breeze in, but don't let this dissuade you as we run hot and we pump up the air conditioner or open up windows during cold days.

Yes, your bathroom is right there, in that glass pod. The windows were incredible! I had a lovely city view that I could adjust to any amount of light due to the slatted curtains. And because our building had (the very rare) AC, the windows did not open to outdoor air, which is a shame, the nights were cooler than the room got and I was hot flashing. We had a king-size bed, up against the window, a desk and television, a sink and refrigerator and a closet space. The room was as wide as the bed is long. Blew my mind. The staff was most courteous, the check in folks especially. Bar staff was awesome and they know how to draw a great cappuccino too. I can't wait until we get to travel back to Switzerland and get to stay here again. It's so central to everything and made getting to places a breeze.

It's literally across the street from the main central train station. Just roll your luggage right in. When you check out the Hotel Bellman can tell you which track to go to and the shortest way. You're paying a bit for the convenience, but it's a beautiful classic hotel and they have an outstanding "made to order" breakfast with a menu. Definitely try to compare the price of your room by booking directly through the hotel online and by checking other online booking services; there is frequently a decent discount or even upgrade (also sometimes if you book multiple nights) directly through the hotel booking portal. The rooms are comfortable and plush. They use a lot of velvet. I love the fact that they give little gifts;the last time I stayed here they included a little item in a gift box with the room. There's a very small but decent "boutique gym" in the hotel; you are fine as long as no one else comes in as it's quite small. The lobby reception is great and the staff is very professional. There's always somewhere open (nearly 24 hours) as you are right by the train station, and they also have a lovely little bar/ café in the hotel; you can sit outside as well. The nice thing about Zurich is the area around the train station isn't sketchy like "Rue de Berne" near Geneva station or in front of the Gare de Lausanne. Zürich's main station is clean and well organized; the Bahnhofstrasse next to the hotel is the grandest and most opulent high end shopping street in Zurich... the really over the top part is a bit further down and it stretches over a kilometer. I really can't fault this hotel other than it's a bit expensive, but most hotels in Zurich are. For the price, you are saving on a cab or extra train ticket as you literally can hop right onto the train across the street and get to the airport or almost anywhere in Switzerland and abroad. All from the incredible Zürich train station. So this is a wonderful stop to take and a hotel for travelers looking for a peaceful respite without venturing far from the station.

There is a lovely garden for dining alfresco but they were jam packed the first night I visited and the manager said no way would they be able to seat me there. So I said I'd ordered to go. (The inside is a bit small, I'm sure nicely cozy in pre-covid times.) It took forever but I finally got my Schlossi pasta. It was pretty tasty and very hot, and hit the spot. On another night I got there late, on a colder evening and got to enjoy my very delicious pizza all by myself in the garden. Ha!
