If I could give zero stars, I would…read more My dear friend chose Spaces by Premier to celebrate her milestone 30th birthday, but what should have been a once-in-a-lifetime celebration turned into an unforgettable disappointment because of the owner's lack of communication, accountability, and concern. The problems started the week before the event when my friend repeatedly tried to contact the owner about her final payment and event details but received no response. She ultimately had to schedule a venue tour under someone else's name just to get him to communicate. During that meeting, she even pointed out how hot the venue was, and the owner simply said the air conditioning was off. On the day of the event, her husband arrived around 5:30 p.m. to decorate and found the building extremely hot with no working air conditioning. Only then did the owner claim he had discovered the AC issue around 4:00 p.m. However, there had already been an event at the venue earlier that day, making it difficult to understand how the problem wasn't identified and communicated sooner. What happened next was the most disappointing part. On one of the hottest days of the year in Charlotte, the only solution offered by Spaces by Premier was four or five small table fans mounted near the ceiling and one fan in the entryway. There was no attempt to bring in portable air conditioning units, no contingency plan, no meaningful accommodations, and no urgency to resolve the issue. The owner and his staff were rude, nonchalant, and completely unaccommodating. They finished setting up the venue and left as if everything was fine. As a result, elderly guests, young children, and many other attendees were forced to endure unbearable heat, and several left the party early because it was simply too hot to stay. To make matters worse, the décor and floral arrangements that had been promised did not match what was discussed, and the event itself didn't truly get underway until after 9:00 p.m. Even after the event, my friend had to continue reaching out for answers. There was no meaningful apology, no accountability, and no genuine effort to make the situation right. Unexpected problems happen. What matters is how a business responds. Spaces by Premier failed to communicate, failed to take ownership, and failed to prioritize the comfort and experience of its customers. A 30th birthday is a milestone that can never be recreated. My friend deserved better, and so did every guest who attended. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend Spaces by Premier, and I sincerely hope no one else has to go through what we did.

My sister used Spaces By Premier to plan her 30th birthday party. Initially, the owner was accessible and excited to make her party memorable. When she went to pay her deposit, the site he uses wouldn't let her. He indicated that he had another event earlier that day, made a couple of edits in his system and she was able to pay. The week of the event, she began reaching out as she realized she had not received finalizing documents for the party. He stopped responding to emails and discontinued taking her calls. She arrived at the venue days before the party, to speak with him. She was able to finalize all party details and pay her remaining balance. She considered canceling at that time; however, our aunts encouraged her to keep the space so she wouldn't have to locate a new venue so close to the party date. When her husband arrived onsite at 5:30pm, the day of the party, the venue's thermostat read 90+ degrees. He mentioned this to the owner who advised that the AC just went out and that he was working to have the space cooled in time for the party at 7pm. When I arrived at the venue at 6:30pm, the temperature inside the building still read 90+ degrees. I visually saw staff members zip tying bedroom sized fans on to the ceiling of the space, an industrial building. This did nothing to cool the space. There were two floor fan units in the corners, also doing nothing to cool the space. I asked the vendors when they believed that would be complete with set up, as guest were expecting to arrive at 7pm. I was advised they would be complete with set up shortly after 7pm. The event was initially scheduled to begin at 6pm. It was pushed back to 7pm, in order to accommodate the venue after they allegedly accepted an event earlier in the day. My sister arrived at 7:30pm, to a venue still not completely set up, fake floral centerpieces (when she finalized real florals for her tables), a thermostat still reading 90+ degrees, signage on the floor that was lifting and then taped down with black utility tape and an owner who acted as if he could not understand her frustration. Family and friends sat in the parking lot from 7pm until 9pm waiting for the vendors to complete set up and praying the venue cooled down. One of the vendors indicated that when they arrived at 4pm the venue was extremely warm and so they purchased fans to assist with heat management. In an industrial style building, AC units were needed. The owner had from 4pm to 7pm to ensure that the space was safe for us to be inhabit. He never communicated that there was an issue with AC, nor did he communicate how he planned to rectify the situation. Had he been concerned with the safety of the guest, he would have recognized, very quickly, that the fans were not cooling off the space and should have immediately opted for AC units. Some guest left due to the late hour, some guest left due to the heat, other guest left because they had to relieve babysitters, or had other events they had to get to. My sister's hair fell from the heat and her makeup was not fresh after she was finally able to get dressed and come greet her guest officially at 10pm. The owner dismissed the considers the evening of the event, and Monday when my sister made attempts to follow up. He sent an email advising that he would reach out to her on Tuesday with an email and what he thought was an "appropriate refund" she still has not heard from him. DO NOT BOOK with a business who has an owner who is this inconsiderate. He had the ability and the time to try to ensure the space was suitable for us and did not. Having us sit in an extremely warm event space, and then staff making comments after that we must have enjoyed ourselves because we stayed, is extremely distasteful and I discourage anyone from booking with this business.
