I ordered a balloon arch for a photo area on a very windy day for an outdoor event. The team arrived promptly, put arch together quickly, and talked me through a few details. When the arch was all set up, we noticed that the rest of our photo backdrop was unstable because of the wind. The Balloons DC team went above and beyond to help us. This company was supposed to deliver 100 balloons for a candlelight vigil for my neighbor who passed away. I spoke with them twice on the day of the scheduled delivery. They said they were on their way but they never showed up and stopped answering the phone. They left a grieving mother without balloons for the balloon release in honor of her son. Shameful. Submitted an order on their website to send some balloons to my niece's boyfriend who happened to be in town for his birthday. I had a teenager waiting for answers and updates about her boyfriend's balloons.... I placed the order as instructed on the site, gave all my contact information and I was told that they would contact me for payment. Fast forward to the day the balloons had to be delivered and NO ONE reached out. Early that morning I called the number on their website, and I got an answering machine that wouldn't even let me leave a message. So here I am the day of the birthday with no balloons. I had to look for another place that could deliver that day, and ended up paying a lot more just because this company wouldn't even reach out to me. Balloons DC dot com provided me superb service with 2 of my recent events for my daughter's graduation activities. After my first event I was so impressed I hired them for a second venue and they set it up within a week of my last minute request. They were on time for each event, even early for the 2nd one. I've used this company once before, and had a great experience, so I called them again for a business event. The balloons were delivered on time, in the colors that we ordered, and they lasted until the next day! Balloons DC even included 3 extra balloons, just in case! 10 days in advance of a birthday party, I called to get a quote for some helium balloons and delivery. I needed to talk to a live person, as their web site allows you to order balloons in solid colors, but I wanted to ask about specialty balloons. The first time I called, they told me their "sales department" closes earlier, so no one was available to assist me. The second time I called (a few days later) they told me that no one from the "sales department" was available to assist me. Both times I called, they asked for my name and a phone number where a sales assistant could call me. I have never received a call back. I tried a third time, and -- you guessed it -- no sales person available. With the party now just a few days away, I will look elsewhere. I have never tried so hard in my life to give people my money for something that I really need. If they don't care to answer a few questions and take my order, they probably don't care about quality or other aspects of customer service. This place was a bust AND a huge waste of my time. read more
