Claire and the team at funkys didn't bat an eyelid. We needed to make sure the play area was clean as nut residue can last a long time on things. We needed to make sure that all the food provided was egg free (it was, right down to the chicken nuggets which often have egg in the coating). I had very little to do other than show up - being a "Pinterest party mum" I wasn't looking forward to handing over complete control of my kids party but they did a stellar job. 2 hours of playing, invites provided, Mickey Mouse paid a visit to the disco, food was plentiful and the kids demolished it - ham, cheese and jam sandwiches, two kinds of crisps, fruit kebabs, sausages and chicken nuggets, all you can drink diluted juice. The staff were friendly and helpful, they even sliced up my cake and threw my extra trinkets into the party bags for the kids. Can't recommend this place enough, it was worth every penny. We'll likely be back again next year

For complete beginners who don't wanna go to the expense of getting into a proper golf course, Ballyearl is a good place to start.

The range has 27 flood lit bays that aim out onto 200+ yards of distance markers and greens. It also has 10 - 15 outdoor bays in the summer as well. The golf course is a challenge to any golfer starting out. It is tricky enough to be enjoyable, but not too hard as to make you want to sell your clubs and take up fishing. It gets very busy at weekends with parents taking their kids out to practice, so I would suggest a weekday visit would be best if you do not want to queue.

Firstly a note on the centre as a whole - with lots of attractive indoor facilities it's a fantastic place to take kids (I was with my nephews) and there's loads for them to do and for you to spend your money on. In my opinion the reception area could do with a revamp, no matter how good the facilities are it's your first impressions that count. Xtreme Bowling is like normal bowling but coupled with UV lights and loud top 40 chart music - these two added elements make it feel more like an under 18's disco. There are 20 lanes although I'd advise booking in advance as when we attended we got given the last lane. It cost's £19.50 for four people (family pass) and I'd say it's well worth the money! There's an in house DJ who comes around giving out spot prizes to kids which is a nice touch. If you're not too good at bowling or have young kids they will put the buffers up and provide you with a ramp so it really is suitable for all ages and abilities. My nephews seemed to enjoy it but they didn't once mention the UV lights which I thought would have been the major talking point. All in all it's a good complex and a nice twist on regular bowling.

The place was completely packed out with people (which put me of abit) but my daughter loved every minute of it. They have a good range of food on offer from burgers to sandwiches to cakes, also a good kids range and lovely teas and coffee's. The place is double the size of places like funky monkeys and it's staff are a lot better with kids in my opinion. They also have party packages and 4 individual party rooms which are a good size. I'll definitely be back even though it's abit of a drive for me but it's worth it. My daughter hasn't shut up about it since lol. The only thing I will say is stay away from it Saturday and Sunday and go during the week if you can because it's less busy.

The first time, we had some visitors staying and we thought it would be a nice day out. We had a great time feeding and stroking the animals -it was like being kids again! The second time my fiancé took me to visit as part of my birthday fun things to do. It was raining but we still had a great time as many areas are enclosed. There was a school trip there and we lingered by the petting farm area to watch the kids feed the kids (baby goats) using a bottle and to listen in on the educational talk given by the guide. The third time I took my nephew - what a hoot that was - one of the enclosures houses a really big goat who can almost stretch out of his pen - he took a rather large lick of my nephews ice cream which then had to be chucked even though Niall protested by screaming his head off. The farm is well run with a shop selling farm themed toys, animal food as well as farm produce. There are many different types of farm creature that you would expect to find on any farm- pigs, horses, sheep and, rather randomly, a wallaby. For a few quid it's well worth a visit. Apart from the farm animals there is also a really great playground for the (human) kids to enjoy. With a café on site as well as a large indoor area full of toy tractors for the younger ones to ride about on you can have a nice time in the sun or the rain. The owners also offer pony and horseback rides for a few pounds more. Most of the animals have a lot of space and are in pens with just one other of their species - I did notice that some chickens who were locked away did look a little cramped but in fairness most of the chickens are free to wander around the land. It's a big indoor soft play area which has four private party rooms and different packages for parties as well as single use entry fees. It can accommodate upto 200 kids and adults with ample seating and eating facilities. It's also in a prime location. After the kids played the cake was cut and the kids were ready for cocktail sausages, fresh chicken nuggets, chips, sandwiches, pizza and crisps, with water and juice to wash it down. I would have liked to have seen some fruit and carrot sticks also. That being said both kids and adults were well satisfied-it would be great if there was something like this for adults only!!!!

Before joining the gym, you must pay for an induction, which costs a tenner, but if you do decide to go ahead and sign up for a membership, they refund this charge. Monthly membership is £28.00 which I think is a fantastic deal, because when I was with Fitness First, I was paying a hell of a lot more than this and their facilities were horrendous, wheras the facilities at the Amphitheatre are top class. My membership fee also includes use of the pool, sauna, steam room etc. I paid my tenner for my induction, and I got a really thorough one, I was taken round every piece of equipment and given a full walkthrough of how to use them, which was good, because the equipment is so state of the art, I hadn't used anything quite like it before. The guy who gave me my induction also gave me lots of good tips and pointers for my workouts, which I appreciated. I love this gym!
