Authentic Italian pizza at an affordable price right in the heart of the centre. We got a full pizza which was more than enough for 3 people, we had 2 slices left over. We got half and half, half margarita and half tuna and sweet corn. I definitely preferred the margarita. The place itself is very spacious with plenty of indoor seating. The interior looks a little run down but it actually adds to the ambiance of the place and I really liked the overall feel. You can buy by the slice too which is convenient. I'll be back.

At around £2.50 a Slice of fantastic Rome pizza, you knew you were getting a quality product - even if a wheatgrass and sushi shack would have probably been better for my waist (and heart!) The nice thing about Slice is that it's informal enough to be able to pop into for a quick slice or two, maybe an espresso or a beer and they've really nailed it when it comes to offering that laid back continental vibe that you don't really get in other UK informal eateries. Even though it's "fast food" it's all made onsite by the owners/bakers and there must be around 10 different pizzas you can get which means there's always something different to have each time. My personal favourite is the ham and leek - it's an absolute treat! It does however look like they're starting to diversify and maybe look at becoming slightly more formal in the back of the store. There's a lovely little bar in the back - nicely stocked doing Italian wine, cocktails and beers - I just hope it's visible enough for people to discover as I thought it was a real find! Slice is great if you're hungry before meeting friends, to sit outside if it's a sunny day or to get quality takeaway as opposed to just some rubbish kebab shop pizza. These guys deserve to do well as they're offering something that little bit different so make sure you check it out!

I think price wise its on the higher end for what you get which is another reason for the 3 stars. Having said this, as I left Slice after sitting inside and finishing off some work before an event, I passed some lucky folk enjoying the afternoon sunshine with a nice beer and few slices - now that is star climbing material! I think the outdoor seating area is a cool spot to people watch and wind down after a long day so I will definitely be doing that soon! Pizza Express have a good number of locations in and around Manchester city centre, this one might…read morenot be my favourite location they have in town, but it's certainly a good option. They're located in the outdoor Hanging Ditch area of the Corn Exchange, so you must go through their entrance and can't access the restaurant directly from within the Corn Exchange. There is a large step to enter, and then a set of stairs so it isn't the most disabled-friendly location, there is a lift though if you require it. I've dined in multiple times during the years, but more recently I've used their offering on Uber Eats, to make use of my Uber ONE membership and ongoing promotions I've had on my account. On my most recent two visits, I ordered their Winter Bundle, which consists of a portion of dough balls and a pizza, opting for the gluten-free dough balls and gluten-free Double American Pizza, which is a delivery-exclusive pizza from their most recent menu update which is their regular American pizza, but with double the pepperoni and cheese. My pizza was really tasty, it packed a punch in terms of flavour, while the dough balls were just ordinary and would have been inedible without a generous dollop of garlic butter. On both occasions, the food was delivered very quickly and arrived piping hot, credit should go to both their delivery partner as well as Pizza Express for packaging the food well, although putting a few napkins in the bag would be helpful! The staff seem friendly when dining in the restaurant, again this is common with Pizza Express. PRO TIP: Be sure to take advantage of their Pizza Express Club loyalty scheme on their app, after just a couple of visits you can get a bunch of freebies to make your trip more affordable. Without these offers, it can be a little pricey however once you unlock the gold tier you're able to get bonuses such as a free soft drink, bottled water, dough balls, coffee and Dolcetti and the list continues. 4* - Pizza Express generally has a VERY good standard across all their locations in Manchester city centre, so any regional manager they do have certainly is doing a good job here and this branch is another example of that.

Fresh ingredients, ever changing menus and a fantastic wine selection. Job done. Now I especially like this Pizza Express for several reasons. Firstly, the venue is class. Big expansive ceilings, stone flooring and lots and lots of space. Even on Saturday nights, you won't wait an age to get a table. Add to that the five star service. All the waiters are friendly and more importantly they are quick and proficient. You'll be in and out as quickly as you want to be. The only minor side is the lack of space to wait if it is busy and the lack of an ability to have a quick drink whilst you count down those minutes to feasting time. Maybe they just didn't want to serve me because I'm a dodgy looking character? Anyway, that aside it has to be one of my favourite pre Saturday night out eating haunts.

I had the Bosco salad (all ingredients I adore - avocado, mozzarella, garlic mushrooms, rocket and that), and Hot Steve had an American pizza. The restaurant is divided into 2 areas: the front decor is fresh white walls, large fireplace and beams, rather like a kitchen in a barn conversion and the rear of the building is a long, glass conservatory, perfect for parties but in the Summer it would require you to wear sunglasses and factor 50. Croma doesn't do surprises; the menu never changes but the food is nice and I think its consist nature is a positive attribute.How irritating is it to enjoy a meal somewhere and when you return a few weeks later, salivating in anticipation of a repeat performance of your favourite dish, it is nowhere to be found on the menu and you are stuck with the steak. The service is fast and friendly with young staff but the floors are uneven and the harsh wooden chairs and tables are a bit rickety on the bumpy tiles. This place is seriously anti smoking and even at the outside seating you get told off like a naughty school girl for lighting up!! These are only small complaints though, all is forgiven by Croma's doughballs . They accompany the amazing duck or tandoori chicken salads and are my naughty little treat. Croma also does a tasty lasagna in a little dish and the sticky toffee pudding is calorific and terrific. Croma is my lunch- with- the- girls place and evening- with- the -hubby place.Daytime gets busy with mums and babies and Croma is a very child friendly venue. It is great value- a meal for two with drinks is approximately £20 and you leave satisfied and chilled out. You can go there for its occasional wine evenings or for Chorlton Arts festival. Me? Well I go for the doughballs.
