We were disappointed that the fire wasn't going when we arrived because we were so cold but it was going the next night and we hung out there a bit before dinner. Breakfast was delicious and because we had to catch the train early our last day Daphne kindly made us to go bags of breakfast, extra tricky because I am gluten free and my daughter is vegetarian. Rathdrum is tiny but Stiraboutlane is within walking distance of a grocery, a few restaurants, the train station and Avondale.

The bus stops outside the door, so if you don't mind a bus ride you should be fine. What makes this place great is the owners. It was sort of like staying with friends. The owner was always available with directions, recommendations. The owner also recommended the Hertz shop down the road (5 minute walk down circular) which was awesome way for us to leave and return to Dublin. When we returned "sure you can use my garage." Which was nice, the 16A bus might come to his doorstep, but it is a LONG bus ride (1hr30min) from the Airport. Breakfast was good. Our room had a bathroom (en suite as they say). Price was $40 Euro a person. The room was quiet, we were never disturbed! Overall a great experience and I would highly recommend it. As rick steve's might say 1/2 the price for 2x the cultural immersion. Too bad I didn't know yelp was in Dublin before I went (I would of found restaurants!)

It has been renovated / remodeled relatively recently. Although the front room could use a 'perk me up', the bedrooms were really nice! The rates are great and include a 'made to order' breakfast. My friends loved it and were grateful for the recommendation. The B&B is run by a husband and wife team. The husband is pretty talkative and volunteers recommendations freely. He immediately welcomed me into the space and offered a full tour. As for convenience, the bus stop is right outside the front door and is conveniently an hour or so from DUB airport. A walk to City Center is about 20 minutes and the canal is about five minutes. I recommend this spot for singles or couples. It's warm and welcoming and the rooms are really nice!

The staff were helpful and went out of their way to provide directions and recommendations for local restaurants. They have on site parking too which was great. The location is ideal, within walking distance from great restaurants on Baggot St. It's an easy walk into the center of town too, if needed, but we felt the immediate neighborhood was perfect for our stay. The house itself is set back from the street, so while it's in the city it felt uniquely quiet and safe. On our departure one of the staff said that they plan on remodeling the whole house in early 2023, so we are now even more excited about our next visit there.

Having been to Italy and Greece, my wife and I were mentally prepared for the typical European basic room...remind yourself you ain't in Amurr'ca anymore and go with the flow. PROs: -Pretty close 5-10min walk to Dublin's center and attractions -Only 165 euro for 2 nights Fri-Sun -Friendly manager and breakfast lady. -Overall room was clean and relatively spacious for 2. -Nice breakfast room, and a filling Irish breakfast(sans "pudding") each morning. -Lots of places to eat nearby. -Cheap 20ish euro cab ride from Dublin Airport, especially if you're group is 3-4. CONs: -Can be a quite a long walk back depending on your daily plans...we walked 11+ miles total our first full day in Dublin! -Older building, furniture, and facilities...the photos were probably taken 5-10 years ago. - Old, tiny bathroom and a tinnier shower...I would soap the walls and just dance around. Just kidding! Pro Tip: American couples, like us, may want to book twin beds instead of a double bed...an Irish double is smaller than an American full. Luckily, our room just happened to come with 3 beds!

Knew little about Dublin when I was booking a room so I did a lot of research online. The Parkway…read morewas reasonably priced, a short walk to City Centre and according to reviewers it was very quiet. (One problem getting a room in Dublin is avoiding places near bars that play loud music until oh-dark-hundred.) I hit a home run when I booked the Parkway. It was clean and quiet and Seamus, the fellow who manages the place was extremely helpful and friendly. He gave great advice about what to do--and just as important, what to AVOID--in Dublin. He also arranged for a cab to pick me up the last morning of my stay, saving me the hassle of sorting through cab companies and making those arrangements myself. And he had discount tickets for the indispensable "Hop On, Hop Off' tour bus he sells to guests without a markup. ("Brilliant," as the locals say.) Breakfast was excellent and young woman in the dining room was very friendly and efficient. My room was quite small, but I was just there to sleep so it was fine. All the rooms are up one or two flights of stairs, so this wouldn't be the place for anyone with a mobility disability. But if room size or accessibility aren't concerns, I'd highly recommend Parkway Guesthouse and would happily stay there again next time my travels take me to Dublin.

And the building and our room were wonderful. It was great that the hotel is apartment-style, because we had everything we needed for our visit! And the service was great, too! The iconic Ha'Penny Bridge is literally right outside the front door. The staff were super nice and welcoming. They always greeted us when we arrived or when we were leaving and they were happy to provide us with additional towels. Our bathroom was super nice with an amazing shower. The 'kitchen' was a tiny sink and a college fridge and microwave, so don't expect to cook meals there. It was perfect for our needs. The bar and restaurant are currently closed for renovations, but I am sure they will be wonderful when they open back up. There is a tiny cafe in the lobby that is open. There are endless pubs, restaurants, and cafes super close by. We will forever enjoy telling people that we used to live in Dublin on the Ha'Penny Bridge, even thought it was just for 3 nights!!
