I may have had a bad lunch experience there once, but that shouldn't distract from it being a pretty good little kiosk run by a nice couple. It's not cheap, but then nothing on Deichstrasse is. It is incredibly handy though. The cakes are pretty good too. Old review: Wandering around Deichstraße yesterday lunchtime we happened upon the Heino Großhaus. Without an eagle-eye it's hard to spot that they have tables for a sit-down meal from the outside of the shop, the main thing that hits you is the look of a small bakery/chocolate shop, but through in the back they do have seating, and they do serve lunch. Half of our party had schnitzel and the other half had these burger-without-the-bun things (I forget the German name). The schnitzels were apparently really dry and the burgers were very salty and also dry. The service wasn't great - some meals were very slow in arriving, and two didn't come at all without further prompting. Overall not a great experience. I may try the bakery sometime, but I'll not be going back for lunch again.

This has quickly become one of my favourite little places in Hamburg. For a small shop it sells a…read morelot of different things. I regularly buy my lunch from here as it does lovely sandwiches and the best potato salad I have ever tasted made with mustard mayo. I have also tried a wide selection of cakes (homemade) and biscuits, all of which have been delicious. I have even bought some gifts to take back home! The owners are really friendly and make sure they speak to me in English as they now realise that I am pointing and grunting at them because my German is not good (yet). If I could score it 4.5 I would purely because of the price. I never seem to get change back from 10 euros no matter what I buy!
