Easily my family's favorite Jamaican restaurant since we moved back to the ATL area! My husband is from Jamaica, and he tends to always suggest Banana Tree when we don't feel like cooking and are in the mood for familiar Caribbean flavours. Our go-to dishes for takeout are: - Jerk Chicken w/ rice & peas - Curried Chicken w/ white rice - Stew Chicken w/ rice & peas - Saltfish w/ butter beans & white rice All of the above are always served fresh, hot, and are well-seasoned. Plus, the pricing is VERY REASONABLE for the amount of food that you get. You also get veggies and plantain on the side. We've enjoyed Banana Tree so much that we recently got a catering order for my son's bday party where we ordered a pan of jerk chicken and a pan of rice & peas. Everyone at the party enjoyed the food and remarked that they'd soon be visiting Banana Tree! My ONLY gripe with this spot is that they haven't transitioned to better food packaging. The orders are always packed in styrofoam which is notoriously unhealthy as chemicals leech into the food, and the sauces tend to leak through if you aren't super careful on the drive home. i'm VERY health conscious and while i prefer to support small, Black-owned businesses, it's getting more difficult for me to rationalize feeding my family food that's been packed in styrofoam. Overall, if you're looking for Caribbean food cooked with love, Banana Tree is a great place to get your fix!

Bones which are supposed to be oxtails

Ordered a large oxtail plate thru uber eats and when I opened I noticed the oxtails looked a little different, I ate them and said this looks like neck bones! I've been eating oxtails for a very long time and I'm from Ny to truly enjoy this restaurant I've been eating here since I moved down here in 2009 and I was very disappointed !

Visited at the recommendation of the staff at my Drs. office. The oxtails, peas and rice, plantains and sorrel were delicious!!! Everything was fresh and the service was good. I'd definitely go back.

Excellent food. We ordered oxtail and was very pleased with the portion. I believe the oxtail could have been bigger and more tender from the bone but I enjoyed them very much. The environment is authentic and the waiter was fairly patient. I will return soon.

Hands down my favorite Jamaican food spot out here. The beef pattie with cheese and coco bread is always a must. Plus the oxtail plate is just amazing and made with so much love. I highly recommend!

This may be the best Jamaican place I have ever visited!!! Spice/flavor was perfectly balanced, portion sizes were excellent, and the service for takeout was quick and efficient!!!

Their current health score of 96 is a testament to this commitment. Hands down, this is one of the best experiences in Stone Mountain. James was our bartender and sherpa this evening. He certainly treated us well, and was the consummate professional and veteran! This made the ambiance even more appealing while setting the stage for some really memorable eats and a first date filled with mutual gratitude. The food here is next level Jamaican inspired and phenomenal. We had the oxtail sliders, plantain boat with jerk chicken, and the shrimp tacos. Everything tasted amazing and was expertly presented/plated. While this place seems to draw a 24-35 year old demographic based on social media content, older folks will also love this place. Looking forward to more from this team in the years to come. Also, the bathroom and public areas are squeaky clean! Well done!

And they serve Pepsi WIN WIN I'm a Pepsi girlie so I was excited about that. I ordered the salmon & the girls ordered the fried chicken. My food was good. The portions were perfect. I tried my daughter's fried chicken which was also good. It wasn't hot though. Her friends said hers was. All & all I enjoyed and I see they're only 7 minutes from my house so I will return. I would recommend as well.

I went right when they opened at 12 on a Saturday so I was in and out! I appreciated the speaker being outside because you can wait in your car instead of standing inside and hear your name. I ordered the jerk chicken, rice and peas, cabbage and Mac & cheese. It's a good amount of food and really good! The Mac & cheese I've had at other spots doesn't compare to theirs, it was so good. I've always ordered from the app but it was the first time going inside in years. Definitely still a fave.

I ordered their large jerk chicken meal it comes with rice and peas and cabbage. My total was $19.74 but I did leave a tip; about $2 and some change. I ate the same plate twice. The jerk chicken is so far the best I've had in Atlanta. The rice and peas were really good: cooked perfectly. The cabbage I had was not the next it was more stalk than anything but I can say the softer parts I did have, had good flavor. I tried their mild and hot sauce for the chicken. Babbbyy the hot is hot! Even mixed with the mild. Now I love hot food so I ate the hot sauce until I just couldn't even more but will I get it again yes, just enjoy the burn lol. It is a to go spot so no seating but you can wait inside for your food. Parking is available and it was easy for me. Also, they are located right next to a gas station so if parking is crazy you have that as an option. The service was great and it wasn't a long wait.

Service - didn't get a greeting when we walked in, the lady was sitting in a chair at the register, there was one guy In there sitting down waiting on this food so she was not busy. They had a few fish dishes on their menu but had NO fish at all that day (weekday). I mean they were out of everything seafood and they were out of sorrel. This should have been a sign to leave but I settled with a small oxtail meal. They do open the box for you to see your food before leaving, no corrections or complaints after you leave. Well, I wish I would have took a closer look at the "plantains" bc it was absolute mush! It looked so terrible, I thought it was fat from the oxtail... they literally served spoiled plantain on both of our plates, I tasted it & it was definitely rotten. I love plantains when I eat Jamaican food & the fact that it was rotten was very disrespectful. The oxtail was small, not a lot of meat but the flavor was decent although I would have preferred more gravy. Rice & peas and the cabbage were average. As far as the inside, not much sunshine in there, just get it Togo. Oh! And the health score was 81 which should have been another sign to leave. There are better Jamaican restaurants to visit.
