I would advise not using BNL's ATMs…read more I did in June 9, 2016 for 500 euro. I received nothing but my account in Canada was debited immediately. I went to the branch the following day with an Italian friend and was told that the matter would be cleared up within 15 business days. I thought that was outrageous but then, hey, it's Italy. It is now August 29, 2016 and I have yet to receive anything. BNL has been ignoring my contact attempts and when they do respond they pass me off to someone else. Today I received an email saying that the onus was on me to fix the problem through my own bank. My bank, like myself, was ignored by BNL after waiting in good faith the 15 day period. I feel I have been robbed of 500 euro by a major European bank. It's nothing to them but a lot to me. During my holiday I had to borrow from friends. I was ashamed. Yet, BNL has no shame. Whatever you do AVOID BNL!! They have done nothing but give both me and my bank a runaround. They have been rude, non-responsive and shameless. I used the BNL at BNL Via Piramide Cestia just off Viale Aurelia.

NO FEES!!!!! FREE!!!! :D…read more Capital One bought out ING Direct a while back ago. I have a Capitalone360 online checking account. So when you use the Capital One debit card to get Euros from this ATM, there's NO fees or currency conversion charges! Luckily this ATM was near by hotel...WINNING!!! These online checking accounts have no fees or minimums, and is funded electronically by your current bank. Here's a link https://r.capitalone360.com/FtzFrfpjiT (Not gonna lie, but I do get a $20 referral bonus...but just think how much money you'll save in transaction fees!)

I just want to convert Lira to Euro which is only done Monday-Friday from 8:30-1:30. In order to exchange Lira to Euros, the bills have to be in new condition-no folds. A lot of people ahead of me seemed to be arguing with the tellers at the window and the workers seemed very unhappy and sounded rude. I finally made it to the window and in English explained why I was there, to buy euros. The lady was so rude and yelled at me and said she only helps Italian speaking people and I should go to the train station if I can only speak English. This was an easy transaction that didn't require that much talking. Worst experience I've had in Italy or pretty much anywhere in the world for that matter.
