My reason was to [hopefully] have them complete my CA EDD Disability 2501 Part B paperwork and a County of San Diego Disability Form. Instead of turn me away, the staff allowed me to see Dr. Brianna Martinez, whom took the time to complete the government forms I needed completed by a Doctor, proving my severe disabilities. My compliments concern two things they did right, 1st) instead of turning me away and calendaring a doctor's appointment, San Ysidro Health worked me into the schedule and allowed me to see a Doctor the same day without appointment. And 2nd) Dr. Brianna Martinez proceeded to take the time and effort to complete the government paperwork I needed to be completed by a Doctor. I know that people often forget to compliment when others go above and beyond and/or do a spectacular job, and instead only complain when others fail to meet expectations. In this case, I want to be sure to take the time to express my gratitude and publically compliment both Dr. Martinez and San Ysidro Health for each helping me and meeting my needs.

What really concerned me was being told I would not meet my doctor until the actual day of surgery. I was also receiving text messages with surgery instructions while I was literally sitting in the lobby, which made the whole process feel very disorganized and unsettling. Social media can be very deceiving, so I highly recommend visiting any facility in person before committing to surgery. When it comes to cosmetic procedures and your safety, trust your gut. I lost my deposit, but I'm still glad I walked away.

Sheri Burke is part of the team and coordinated the flights and hotel and airport pick up- everything was streamlined and easy. Sheri is a certified nutritionist and is outstanding at her job. When I arrived at the clinic, I was helped right away by the staff. I was apprehensive like most people are before surgery. Dr. Verboonen was reassuring and the research I had done on the Center and on Dr. Verboonen's record and expertise was confirmed. I am now almost at goal weight - 148 pounds. Sometimes I still can't believe it. In addition, the Center provides follow up care and nutrition advice once you get back home. The post-op diet was easy to follow and Sheri was there to help as I transitioned to a new way of eating - much healthier and I don't miss the junk I used to eat. Most of all, I feel like a new person. I never thought I would be this weight again. She's losing weight but it is far too early to predict final outcome, but so far so good. She's happy. Everything I experienced indicated a first class medical facility and staff, and would have no reservations about recommending or using it. Now other stuff, kind of travel guide stuff, for persons not having surgery. I travel regularly to Mexico and drove, although everyone else with whom I spoke was picked up at San Diego airport by a clinic arranged transfer. GPS apps for "Obesity Goodbye" gave me a 4100 address, which doesn't exist, but the Yelp address and map position is correct. You're not far from the border so you celular phone may have problems because it's receiving both US and Mexican cell towers. Turn it off and back on as kind of a reset. Street parking most hours requires a paid ticket with license plate number displayed on the dash - the machine is across the street by Carl's Junior. Jesus at the office took care of it for me. (also gave me a good tip on an auto detail place). The staff parks inside and they kindly offered to park my car inside as well. Nice people, very accommodating. They will bring you take out food from local places, great Mexican street tacos. There is a 'starbucks' like coffee place about 2 blocks called 'D'Volada" - same types of coffee drinks, food items and smoothies. Calimax is the local supermarket chain- and has a small store nearby. DO take a walk down "La Revo" as Revolucion street is popularly called, it's like 15 blocks to the border, where you see the big arch. Cuban Cigars at La Casa del Habana and the restaurant that created the cesar salad (yes, the most famous Mexican food in the US is the cesar's salad - see my Yelp reviews) Restaurante Cesar, are 5-6 blocks - about halfway to the border. Mexican pharmacies have many medicines cheaper than the US and have a doctor available for consultations who will write prescriptions for a small fee. Take advantage. Shoeshines and haircuts are also much less. Oh , and score points, or at least, don't get demerits with the locals by pronouncing the name correctly , it's TI juana, NOT Tia Juana. Enjoy.

I had breast…read morecancer with left breast mastectomy in 2010 and as a result, had terrible overall breast symmetry. Contending with an overly large perky saline implant on my left breast, and a very saggy sad right breast, I had a rather low self-image. I also was saddled with huge flabby upper arms and lots of side boob. I hadn't worn a short sleeve shirt in years. I found Dr. Flores in Tijuana, Mexico and after visiting his web site, conducted due diligence to ensure he was board certified and had no instances of malpractice. I found he was boarded in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and in General Surgery. His ratings were five stars. I contacted the practice online, sent initial photos, and they responded back very quickly with recommendations for improvement and a professional brochure that included a lot of information about the Dr., the team, the hospital and the hotel along with a very reasonable quote. Soon after, I had my first web consult with Dr. Flores. I decided to move forward with the surgery, and upon my arrival in San Diego, the office arranged a ride for me from the airport to the Dr's office in Tijuana where I had my pre-op consultation and met the support team. Everyone was very kind to me and took a great deal of time to ensure I had all my questions answered and was comfortable with the proposed surgeries, implants, and subsequent care. Dr. Flores did the "mark-up" and spent a great deal of time helping me to choose the right implant size for my body. Since I was also having an extended arm lift, Dr. Flores also agreed to remove as much side boob and back fat as possible. We also discussed reasonable expectations. Interestingly, I also had an extensive visit/exam with an Internal Medicine physician to ensure I was healthy and could tolerate the anesthesia and surgery with little risk. My surgery was the following early morning, and I spent a night at the hospital. I woke up sometime in the very early morning, and a very sweet nurse brought me broth and Jello. I woke up again in the morning to find Dr. Flores checking in on me. He took lots of time to answer all my questions and he described everything he had done surgically, and he assured me that everything had gone very well. He was very happy with the results and warned me to be patient and to do very little physical activity until cleared. My first impression of my new body was scary. I told Dr. Flores I was very worried. He asked me to be patient and said that what I was seeing was normal, and that everything would be just fine. I stayed in Tijuana for about seven days and was delivered back to the airport and flew home. I had to stay in constant contact with Dr. Flores's office and send new photos every Friday. After one month post op, I began to see that I was going to look amazing. I had my final three-month post-op web visit with Dr. Flores last week and I am now in month four post op, and I am healing up very nicely. My arms are slim and I am very pleased with my new and improved breast symmetry. I now look wonderful in clothes, and my scarring surprisingly has been very minimal. I have had a really excellent experience with Dr. Flores and his wonderful staff. I initially was scared to have the surgery in Mexico, but in retrospect, I was treated so much better than I had been previously in the US. Everyone took the time to get to know me and everyone I encountered was patient and kind. The hotel was beautiful and the food was amazing. I would do it again in a heartbeat and have absolutely no regrets. I highly recommend Dr. Flores and his excellent team.

They call me every two weeks about a blood pressure update. I keep trying to tell them I'm not in that relationship no more that's why my blood pressure is better than normal. I'm just sayin'.
