Nice patio although the view leaves a little something to be desired. Lots of breweries are found in industrial areas but surely they could have found a slightly better location. Banded has a couple of cool things going for it - one they have these super cool glasses and two they serve sandwiches (mostly grilled cheese) that seemed to pair nicely with beer. Came with friends for some bites and lots of beer. Had a couple of pints of their IPAs, both great, and tried a couple of other beers too. very nice atmosphere with good music. We ordered food to share: sandwiches, salads and platters, and found them all to be very good. The bread they use is just delicious, and they make good use of it by combining great ingredients skillfully. The Reuben, the Cesaroni and the Smoked Ham and Cheese sandwiches are unbelievable. Breweries is one of my favourite places to visit when I travel or at home. I just love to see the dedication and hard work of these micro breweries put in to fulfill their dreams. It might be just a bottle, a can or a pint of beers but they all started with their love of beers.  Banded Peak Brewing in Calgary is one of the memorable ones I have been to. The vibe is casual, the people is friendly. A place for some good beer brewed in house and some free popcorn! You can get a 4 oz taster of any beers for $2.50 and just make your personal selected flights. For take away, there is the options of growler or "Canimal" which is a 1 Litre Can of beer. These cans are filled up manually by staff, just like how they do with growlers. They even use a can sealing machines at the front counter to seal each can individually. Banded Peak Brewery might not be one of those chic brewery pub but a fun and homey place for beer lovers. Worth checking it out when you are in the area. read more

Love this brewery! Great beer and free popcorn :D Its a small place, but one of my favourite microbreweries in Calgary! Note that there isn't really much food, but they have very tasty (while pricey) artisan sausages in addition to the free popcorn. Kids are welcome but they don't seem to have much entertainment that I could see. If you like IPAs, they've got a couple of solid core beers that are IPAs. My favourites of their core beers are plainsbreaker, southern aspect and summit seeker. Check them out and support them! Such good beer! read more

This year Banded Peak Brewing had a booth at "Taste of Calgary". I managed to try all of their drinks and loved them all! They offered: - Chinook Saison 4.5 % - Plainsbreaker Hoppe Wheat Ale 5.0 % - Summit Seeker IPA 6.5 % - Southern Aspect IPA 7.1 % All of these were listed as being vegetarian which is great! I also liked that they include the percentage beside the beers so that you know! Delicious! read more

In from Vancouver to sample the craft beer scene and weren't disappointed. Banded Peak was the standout among the ones we visited. Good service and even better beer. The hazy IPA and the Saison were our favourites although the gose was also good if you're into sours. I'll be back next time I'm in Calgary for sure read more

I had a wonderful time at Banded Peak Brewing! Great spot in Calgary with plenty of core beers and nice collaborations with other local breweries. Tyler made sure I felt very welcome as an out of town guest and made sure I had some good company. He was very knowledgeable about the local beer scene and was great to talk to, which made the experience for me. I'd recommend bartenders choice on beers unless you have a strong preference to a certain type of brew. Their saisons were very nice, but after trying everything on the menu there's not a bad option at all. If you're in town and only have one brewery option, this would be my vote. read more

I was here for a closed event and had a fantastic time. Great beer, friendly service and an all around positive atmosphere. I really enjoyed the 6 glass flight to try a bit of everything. My favourite beer by far was the guava as you could taste the fruit but it still was tart and tasted like beer. I also loved their attire - they had a Banded Peak shirt with the logo "mount crushmore" haha! There was also a fried chicken food truck parked outside that was no joke the best fried chicken I have ever had. The brewery itself is a little far out from downtown but if you come here with a good group it is absolutely awesome! Will definitely be coming back when I'm in town. read more

Located in an industrial area in the SE, the brewery looks kinda like a garage. There's free popcorn at the front and a set of tables and chairs underneath a storage area. I loved the music playing, a mix of the Monkees, Bill Hayley, Simon and Garfunkel, George Harrison, and the Beattles. We sampled three beers, the Chinook Saison, Summit Seeker and the Plainsbreaker. The Plainsbreaker was my husband's favourite beer. I also really enjoyed it, it's a pleasant, easy drinking ale with a touch of of what I thought tasted like citrus. My ultimate favourite is the Chinook Saison, a Belgium-style ale was crisp and fresh. I could drink this beer all day long. The Plainsbreaker is a great beer for those who don't normally like IPAs. There was touch of sweetness to it which mellowed out the hoppy notes. Banded Peak has only been opened for four months. The Southern Aspect IPA saved this review for me- its stellar, kinda has a burnt pumpkin seed thing going on and I was all about that. The Summit Seeker IPA was also delicious (though my husband found there to be a weird after-taste, I dunno, but his pallet is more discerning than mine). The presentation of the flights was adorable, with solid branding and cute little tags that directed your taste buds. The pints served are also 20oz, which is a huge YES from me. There were some drawbacks though. The popcorn is not free- its $2 and while that won't break the bank, I feel like the free popcorn is a nice touch. Are you guys getting rich off popcorn sales? You look at your portfolio and you're like 'ahhh yes, 20% mutual funds, 20% international equity, 10% cash and FIFTY PERCENT POPCORN PROFITS? Is there not some cancer foundation we can just donate popcorn proceeds to under the guise of being good people? Anyways, popcorn rant aside, the price of flights is generally more premium to others in the Barley Belt. I'm willing to pay more, but I also expect some semblance of service. When asked what options I wanted for my flight, my go-to is bartender's pick. I was told she'd just give me the first four on the menu. I feel like this could have been an opportunity to tell me what a personal favourite is, whats a best-seller, anything with a cool story or history. But why do that when you can just move down the tap line and go back to texting on your phone I guess? Side note: I'm one of those ridiculous people who will avoid a place if I can't find parking. Right right, this is a brewery and most of y'all are taking an Uber- but on the off-chance you're wandering in for a quick pint after work, parking can be annoying. read more

very casual tap room, feels like you are tucked into the supply room sneaking a few beers while the boss isn't looking :D Great beers, surprisingly really enjoyed the IPA's. Staff were friendly, and the space is industrial, but relaxed, like you can hang around for a few hours no worries. They also had a popcorn machine with free popcorn! Beer and popcorn? yes please! My absolute favourite new Alberta brewery. These guys know how to pack their beers with flavour and maybe a bit of attitude. Lots of balanced hop flavours ranging from citrusy to floral in most of their brews save for the innovative Javalanche; a light sessionable coffee stout and one of my favourites. One of the smoothest high IBU IPAs you will ever have (Summit Seeker). A tart golden wheat ale mainstay (Plainsbreaker). New beers seem to be appearing all the time with the caramely Vienna Punk showing up recently. Hungry? They have delivery menus from the local pizza shops. The guys are great here. Expect huge things from this brewery. Forgot your growler? Fear not.. Banded Peak has 1L cans they call (domesticated) canimals. These things are a great way to bring two pints per can to your friends house or out hiking. read more

A very down to earth spot in the SE industrial area. Seemingly next to a place where some of the food trucks park for the night? Either way, a very non-pretentious little hangout. It's a shame that the service is so bad. We went in with a recommendation from a friend that the beer was great. Had intentions to purchase 3 of the takeaway jugs of assorted beers. We are a nice bunch, my husband myself (in our 50's) and our 33-year-old son who is visiting from New York. We live nearby (Mount Royal) we have disposable income and we like to drink beer. Our son is an artist living and working in Brooklyn so he really is the true Hipster in the room - as compared to the watered-down Calgary hipsters in view. (was a bit worried that we must not look 'right' - ha ha) Friday evening about 6:00 pm we enter and have a quick look around while we wait our turn at the counter/bar. A couple appears to be paying their bill so we are waiting for them to finish up. The man attending to them is literally 4 feet from my face and he is very attentive (honestly, they are having a great time, chatting and laughing) with the couple paying their bill but he (with what seemed like considerable effort) somehow carefully avoids even looking at my face. We stand there for about 8 minutes without so much as a glance, a smile, a nod - dammit a wink and I would have stood there for another 5 minutes! But zero acknowledgment after 8 minutes when I am literally! right in your face is just plain rude. There is a reason that when folks enter your establishment a friendly greeting is in order. So, we left. Nobody noticed. Sad. But it's ok, I think we can manage to find another brewery pub to purchase our beer. Oh, look! There's one a block away :) read more

As a brewery addict I had high hopes for beer. Asked gal about the two ipas...no help at all. Took a chance on the Southern IPA. Wife went with saison. Bursting with flavor. I had a sip as well. Very flavourful. The IPA on the hand Might have been good if beer wasn't flat. After waiting for employee, i asked if it was supposed to be flat or what. He said it usually is less carbonated. I said you may want to try as it made a guinness seem like a ginger ale. No acknowledgement. Didn't even try the beer. read more

Great little spot off McLeod Trail over the hill south of the Stampede Grounds. Funky relaxed decor - it is a working brewery after all - outstanding beer, friendly knowledgeable guys, who are happy to show you around and talk about the product (when they are not too busy). It is a pleasure to be somewhere where the people are passionate about what they do and really care about what their customers think. So far removed from the industrialized and mediocre products ground out by Molson et al. Onwards and upwards Banded Peak! (Favourite beer - Chinook Saison, but they are all good). read more
