So we have been back several times and this place just keeps getting better! Initially they didn't have a bangers and mash dish, then it was only on weekends, and now it is on the menu every day! They also have added to the menu one of the best chili cheese fries I have ever had. While it is listed as Bangers(plural) and Mash it does have just one sausage but I still didn't leave hungry. The sausage is a delicious mild sausage, the mash potatoes were creamy and good but the gravy is what sets this dish apart. The brown gravy they make is an onion base, not mushroom! As someone who loves sautéed onions and despises mushrooms this is refreshing to find and heavenly to taste. The chili cheese fries are first of all a huge portion! It could easily be a great entree or something to share with friends. The fries were crisp and salted. The chili was good and not sweet. The fries were covered with chili, cheddar cheese, fresh chopped onions, black pepper and a light drizzle of the chimichurri mayo. The chimichurri mayo gives the dish some garlic flavor that really goes great with the rest of the spicy and savory flavors in this dish. When I tasted their chili cheese fries the flavor took me back to when I was a kid eating chili dogs with my dad. I cant wait to have this again. read more

We were first timers and just visiting in Bend, and decided to try this place out. The owner was more than happy to take his time and explain everything to us, offer us recommendations, and let us sample some of his chimmicurri (which was fantastic, we left with a big bottle). I got the reindeer brat and my boyfriend got the wild boar, both with the recommended toppings. They were both delicious and the owner even picked out beers for us to pair with them. My only issue was that I liked my boyfriends brat better - it's that damn chimmichurri. You'll remember it for the rest of your life. read more

This was one of the best meals I have ever had, which isn't something one might normally say about a hot dog/sausage place. Every sausage has a distinct flavor profile (my wife got wild boar and I got reindeer). The Gorgonzola bacon fries were great (the regular size is sufficient for two) and the chimichurri sauce was the best I've ever had. It is very obvious that these people care about their food. I can see why this branch from Bend is so popular. First off bring a big appetite as just the bacon/gorganzola fries are way more than two "normal" people can eat before they get cold. 2nd the staff couldn't be more cordial and efficient. They are excellent from all aspects. We went British Bangers [ which we buy often at Long's Meats and love] so that was a good start but we'd drop the carmelized onion choice and go with grilled onions so let sweetness and maybe the pepperoncini for some heat with both the Brit. Banger and the Chicken Basil as both could use some heat on top of the garlic aioli that was excellent but mild. We often have foccacia bread at home with olive oil and balsamic vinegar so the Chimichurri w/ bread was similar but the buns are light and the perfect compliment to any banger. A nice assortment of northwest beers is the perfect compliment to a very reasonable and very filling meal. Our son who owns Whatalesyou in Kihei, Maui would strongly approve. What's not to love about this place?! The owner and staff are amazing; friendly and knowledgeable about their food and beer. Plus, a couple of the guys mountain bike; so that makes them good people in my husbands book. My family: husband, 2 teenagers and dog sat outside in the patio area. The benches were comfortable, had a tether for the dogs leash and they brought out a fresh bowl of water. The owner introduced himself and went over the menu, including recommended combinations. The teenagers opted for brats, while my husband and I had Deschutes IPA sausage with sauerkraut, caramelized onions and whole grain mustard. We washed this down with a midnight stout beer on tap...so smooth. The buns for the sausage were soft, yet sturdy enough to hold the sausage and toppings without falling apart. Not only did we eat the sausage, we also enjoyed the bacon and Gorgonzola fries, chimichurri with bread AND (the teenagers) tres leches with dulce de leche. All was excellent. It has excellent food. The chimichurri is very good, a little too spicy for my hubby. All around a really good place and just what Bend needed to add to its variety of restaurants. We really enjoy the sweet potato fries, the shoestring fries, the variety of beers and the assortment of sausages. They have a small, but good selection of beers and ciders on tap. My wife, son and I were visiting Bend for spring break. For dinner my wife suggests we go to Bangers and Brews. Bangers for dinner? She said they had great reviews so we went. I was amazed. I love food and Rubens did not disappoint. We had the gorgonzola fries with bacon. We ate them all. I had a banger with caramelized onions and garlic aioli. My wife had the banger with chimichurri sauce (made fresh by Rubens wife). Both were amazing. Rubens is also a great host. He checked on us several times during dinner and even volunteered to bring us blankets to keep us warm. I wasn't expecting much and I got an amazing dinner (both the food and the experience). The next time we are in Bend, we will be going back and I would highly recommend Bangers and Brews to all of my friends. read more

My roommate and I tried this place for the first time. We were skeptical of the food thinking it would be gamey but to the contrary it was excellent. Not your everyday sausage! My hubby had duck/bacon sausage and it was phenomenal! You can have it in a bun or on a salad the toppings are also excellent and homemade. This place is amazing and just what this location needed! From the prompt service, to the amazing food, everything blew me and my boyfriend away. An older gentleman brought us over samples of their homemade "grandmas chimichurri" and it was to die for! We even bought a jar so we could use it in some of our home cooked dishes. Still without a doubt one of my favorite places to eat in Bend. The owners and staff are always so friendly, and love to talk about their products. Today we got to try samples of a new rabbit sausage that they will be bringing in, and it was delicious. I had water buffalo on the mash potatoes and carmelized onions, and since I have to always get two, a reindeer sausage. They mentioned today that they were going to be getting rattlesnake, and I believe kangaroo sausage in soon. They had alligator on the menu today.
