But what also became clear in talking with her is that she really "knows her stuff." Terri provided a ton of information to my partner and myself about sprucing up our small property, on topics such as what materials to use to replace the broken-up paving out front and where to find them; what arrangements to plant in the stone boxes on the porch rail; what small trees to consider to break up a too-exposed street view of the house; and more. She even volunteered solutions to problems we didn't know we had (such as getting rid of the -- what?!!! -- poison ivy growing up the side of the house right near the front door!) Another suggestion that impressed us was her suggestion to enhance the front facade of our arts and crafts cottage by changing the colors of the stain on the porch railing and floor.
