I have had to use some of the locations that remodeled and make you just talk to the screen and have had more things messed up with my accounts than ever before. The impersonal feeling is so inviting. If my main bank switches to this business model, I will definitely take my business elsewhere. As far as I am concerned, it just reinforces that their customers are just a number.

Roger St Pierre was super helpful and patient in explaining the process to me and was great at keeping me updated all along the way. Unlike other lenders, Roger asks most of the questions up front and, once he gives you the approval, you are good to go. Most other lenders offered a "provisional approval" right away but then wouldn't commit until much further in the process. Since I had a deal I really wanted to close, a short timeline, and Earnest money at stake, I was glad that I went with Roger. They got the closing instructions to the title company three days early and the loan documents to me to review two days early. Thus, by the time I got to closing, I already knew everything was good to go. I can attest that they run a great shop. PS. (They also suggested a couple of different attorney firms to draft my LLC documents. The one I selected, KKOS, also turned out to be fantastic and super speedy. My only tip is to make sure that everyone at the bank and the attorney office knows your time line and whether you value "cheap" or "quick". The attorney selected "send check" from my self directed IRA to fund the LLC bank account for closing and I luckily happened to catch that and changed it to "send wire" so that there would be no delays. The attorneys were saving me wire fees but I needed it to be fast so I changed the forms to make sure that each time things were sent via Fedex or wire for fastest results. I closed in less than 30 days from start to finish.)

Called to start the process, and they told me my account was closed due to being dormant, and that they had taken the $70.59 that was in the account to cover costs. No letter, no email, no text, no call. Admittedly, the amount was small, but I found the fact that they would close any account without making an effort to notify me was unbelievable and incredibly arrogant. Apparently, I was sorely mistaken to expect the hometown service I was looking for from BHFCU, and I certainly will not move my significant banking in terms of loans, savings accounts, credit cards, etc., to BHFCU. I would urge everyone to watch your accounts closely as they apparently have no problem with not only closing them without notice, but also with taking the balance.

This bank made the process so wonderfully personal and helpful. I attempted to do the xfer to a US Bank account and you absolutely find it next to impossible to talk to a human there, with good English, at US Bank. I never did accomplish anything with them. Pioneer Bank & Trust, however, was just so helpful, AND you can get a human simply calling them. In looking at reviews, I noticed one from a former employee who stated if was the best place they have ever worked. I truly believe that. It advertises that they are "local", and boy they are.
