What a fun experience! My friend and I signed up for their candle making class and we had a great time. The instructor guided us step by step as we chose our scents, tested the combinations, decided on the ratio of each scent and overall formula, picked out our containers, selected the wax color and intention stones, and so on. The class was about an hour and then they asked us to return in another hour for the wax to cool and the candle to cure. The only downside is that it's pretty pricey - $60 for the class itself, and I spent an additional $20 on upgrades (like a prettier container and the decorative stones). So I spent $80 on making this candle when most small candles the same size (10 oz) cap out at $20 max. But again, it was a fun experience worth doing at least once. read more

BE ON TIME! We arrived and when you arrive you pick a seat and put on an apron. The 1st thing you do is put your name on the brochure . Then you pick your two fragrances you want. I would suggest go in with a goal. Like think of what smell do you want. Do you want laundry day/fresh linen, bakery, woody, ETC. Personally I feel like going in with a goal helps narrowing down the scents you like. Because you can be like my sister who had 5 scents she liked and wasn't sure. We did pay the additional for bigger candle. Everything was explained as we were making the candles. After we did the process we picked labels and the color of our wax for the candle. We also named our candles. Every step is written down so you can order the same candle scent again. The only thing I wish the talked about was how to properly care for your candles. It was a fun experience choosing scents and creating a personalized candle. You can customize your candle with different scents, jars, colors, and labels. Our instructor was friendly and welcoming. The activity lasted only an hour, which felt a little rushed. There are plenty of options to choose from, but any upgrades for larger sizes, different jar colors, labels, or gemstones come with an extra charge. When we booked, the website mentioned that the candle would be ready for pickup in one hour, but on the day of, we were informed that it would take two hours. I've taken the candle making class here multiple times and it's always a blast, especially as a group activity with friends or a date. I'd give 0 stars. I was a retuning customer for a class and had gone to the Manhattan location with no issues. This brea location was upsetting and I still don't have my finished product. The employee who attended a group class of 3 wasn't even aware we were scheduled. She didn't manage the time at all and when it came to wait for the candles, she agreed for us to come back right after closing time. We went back and she was gone. This was extremely rude and she didn't bother to call any of us or let us know she was leaving. We then tried to engage with someone else from this company and they were also rude. I did the candle making class using a groupon. Overall, fun activity where you get to make your own candle from start to finish. This includes choosing your scent, jar, candle color, and label. The girl who walked us through the process was nice, but there was some miscommunication and she was kind of hard to understand at times/mixing up her words. One major miscommunication that left us not in a good mood after were the jars. The shelf and labels are organized in a confusing fashion. We chose these jars on the bottom left because it had no label so we assumed these were the included jars but it was an upgraded +$5 jar. The jars all the way at the bottom in the right corner are actually the included jars. However, the girl did NOT point them out at all and only focused on the jars on the lefthand side. She offered me a business card to talk to corporate I guess? But at that point the candles were already made. I would've preferred a refund but I guess they have to remake my candle completely which is not worth the effort and time, so I just begrudgingly paid the extra $10 for my friend and I's jars. To my surprise, my friend made reservations for us to make candles! Woohoooo! We were greeted immediately by two friendly ladies (forgot their names) as we walked through the door. They explained the candle making process and we began! First, we put on our aprons to make sure nothing gets on our clothes. Second, we smelled their oils. They had a large selection to choose from and it was suggested we select two fragrances. I have a very sensitive noise and most fragrances give me a headache. However, I smelled over 20 and my babe didn't even need to massage my temples. I selected fresh cut roses (smells like lilacs) and white tea and my friend selected mango papaya and Jamaica me crazy. Next, we decided how much of each fragrance we wanted for our candle. We opted for their small candle so it would be 18 grams. My friend splitted his fragrance evenly with 9 grams where I did 10 and 8 respectively. Once we had our measurements, we selected the wax color. I thought the color of candles were based on their fragrance (rookie, I know!). Unbeknownst to me, you can select whatever color you like! They had a dozen or so colors to choose from. I selected pink whereas my friend selected blue. Next, we combined our fragrance, wax color, and wax into the candle jar. The wax immediately turned pink! They have options of adding rocks to your wax but we opted not to do so. Lastly, we selected our candle name and theme for the glass (I think that was the hardest point)! We were told to come back in a hour to let the candle harden. We walked the mall and came back to our beautifully hand crafted candles. Made a couple of candles last week with my friend for our birthday's. It is really fun and the people working there are absolutely wonderful. It's a lovely little shop overall, but the scales you use during the class are weirdly beat up, so be warned. I bought the class fees thru Groupon which saved a lot of money! The instructor was very kind and allowed us to take our time in deciding our scents and jars. The class has a basic jar and lid included but the prettier ones are $15-20 extra! The jars pictured were $15 more. You get to choose what color to make the wax as well. I chose bright green but darker. It came out like a pastel light mint green color (not pictured). I tried to make it match with my jar color so it can be pink and green like a flower! Green would be the stem and leaves and the pink would be the flower petals. I named my candle Slay no stress because why stress when you can slay instead? There are a handful of options to choose from for the label design and gold foiling is available for an extra fee as well. There is also an option to add gemstones as well for $3 I think. My first B&B experience was at the Brea Mall location. I discovered the candle making class on Groupon and being that Brea is the closest location to me I totally wanted to give it a try! The class was intimate, the facilitator was patient & did a great job at educating us throughout the entire process. From beginning to end, the class was super enjoyable, fun and enlightening as to how the candle process works as well as the science behind blending fragrances/getting the right amount of wax. I have thoroughly enjoyed the candle I made and it burns perfectly. I was up-saled on the wick trimmer but totally happy with that purchase. I don't have to use my scissors anymore! They teach you everything you need to know to make your candle and why they use the products they use. The different senses that you can mix are wonderful. Came in to celebrate a friends birthday. The four of us enjoyed making the candles. The instructors were both very nice, patient & helpful. We were directed to put our purses nearby in cubbies & were given aprons. On the table there were 3 trays filled with small canisters of fragrances that we could smell & choose 2 to mix. You can choose colors for your candle & upgrade to different containers. You can select a standard label or upgrade to other options but you can create any text you want. This was the BEST experience. I had been wanting to make my own candle for a long time so I finally gathered my family to celebrate all the November birthdays to do this activity. I got our tickets from Groupon which was a good deal but the instructions on how to apply the Groupon to the company website for reservations could be more clear. Let me say this place is CLEAN. I celebrated my birthday here April 2023. Today I decided to go on a date with husband, the staff was BEYOND friendly and EXTREMELY helpful. However I was not able to book via Groupon. My husband was not happy when he found out that we paid over $160 for two candles. This place needs to offer more promotions.
