This little place makes the best Asian dishes. My wife loves their avocado salad, and their teriyaki meals are scrumptious. The restaurant is not very large, but the food and service are quick and the owner always makes it a point to stop by, chat, and ask how we liked our food. One thing I also look for when going to an Asian restaurant​ is the mix of clients. DONT COME TO THIS RESTAURANT. Their food gave me food poisoning last night and when I called they had no sense of customer care at all. The girl on the phone told the boss and I heard him tell her to just "hang up the phone". I called back and explained to him how his food made me feel sick and he said he "doesn't care and i did it to myself." My friend and I got spicy beef noodle soup, chicken hibachi and crab Rangoon(appetizer). We came during lunch time. This place is very affordable and the food are delicious. It's healthier than other American Chinese food places. This place has both authentic Chinese food (spicy beef noodle soup) and American Chinese food. We had passed Bao Bao and were curious. While small, the parking lot was set up well - and off a busy road - so we knew thought had gone into the construction of the restaurant. He got the Udon noodles. They were thick, perfectly cooked, and with fresh veggies. He was very happy. I got the sushi - and was VERY happy. The fish and the avocado were both fresh and delicious. While we were eating there was a consistent influx of people either eating in or getting takeaway. The staff were helpful, polite, and had great positive personalities. If we come back to the area, we will definitely come back to Bao Bao. read more

Very fresh sushi, large proportions, haven't had a dish I didn't like yet. A bit more expensive than other take out places, usually $12 per dish. Sushi can range anywhere from $4- $10. Go there almost once a week, I love it. Definitely my favorite Chinese takeout in the area. read more

This place was good for a quick sushi stop for lunch. The Lunch special came with 2 or 3 rolls but did not come with soup or Salad. I got a few order of salmon sashimi, one spicy salmon roll, and one order of edamame. The menu is great. My food was ready when I walked in. I doubt I spent more than half a minute in the store. The spicy salmon roll was pretty basic, but I liked it. It had a small kick of spiciness. I wouldn't mind it being a little more spicy. But it was enjoyable as is. The salmon sashimi were large, fresh, and looked very good (I wish I got a picture). Two small problems. One, I could taste wasabi even though I didn't use any. Two, I found a bone in my sashimi. The staff are super friendly and willing to explain any dish to you and have let me have the discounted lunch special price a half hour early, when most places make you wait for the menu to change. Very reasonable prices and huge portions. Cheap sodas and free coffee or tea available. Also free "yummy sauce" available on the side (just like Japanese Yum Yum sauce you can buy at the supermarket). They also deliver for lunch and dinner. I highly recommend trying this place! Went to grab some quick take out so I called and placed an order for sushi. When I went to pick it up, there was four to five people working only one person with a mask on who was assisting people paying and giving out the food. All others who were cooking/preparing food had no mask in sight, not on their neck, not on their wrist, not even on their face with their nose sticking out. Nothing. I have ordered delivery from Bao Bao twice prior to writing this review. I first came across this place while searching on Yelp for a place that isn't pizza. I haven't eaten sushi in the Binghamton/Vestal area yet, so why not? Let's test some boundaries... I have primarily ordered sushi with miso soup while my husband orders hibachi. I have had the Yummy Roll, Double Spicy Roll, and Spicy Crunchy Roll. When ordering through Yelp, I really like how the menu shares how many times other patrons have ordered the items. All three of these seemed fairly popular I gave them a go on separate occasions. My main concern about the sushi is that it tastes bland, not bad, just BLAND. Like nothing. Unless I drown the sushi in soy sauce, spicy mayo and wasabi it tastes like a white rice. I use the entire portion of wasabi that comes with the sushi and I don't wince. I question the quality of the wasabi as I have had wasabi that clears my sinuses with just a dollop of it. I could not taste the difference between the crab, salmon or tuna when tasting them separately without sauce. I am by no means a sushi expert, but I have been eating sushi for well over a decade and seafood for longer than that. I understand what different fish/crustacean should taste like, albeit majority of the "crab" sushi is made with crab stick, it still has a distinct taste. The miso soup was good, however, the tofu/wakame to broth ratio was vast. I won't go into detail about the hibachi as that is usually my husband's choice. He says the steak tasted like "ground beef" but the chicken and shrimp were good. I have only tried the shrimp which I thought was good, but still pretty bland. On both occasions, the delivery time was on point -- about 40 minutes and the food was hot! No need to reheat with Bao Bao! Take note that I like to order early, around 5:30 pm, because no one wants to encounter a hangry KT. just sayin'... All in all, I give Bao Bao a 3 out of 5. They have good service and delivery times, but I feel like their food quality could be better. read more
