I ended up driving to the Carmes area not realizing it was one of the areas in Toulouse on my list of places to visit in Toulouse. We specifically drove to try Bao House. Service was top notch. Once we arrived, my husband wanted to take the food to go because he severely dislikes outdoor seating :). The owner came out and opened the inside seating area for us to use. We were warmly greeted and welcomed. Our orders were taken. Our food came out in under 15 minutes. I had the vegetarian Bao with aubergine and shiitake with salad as my side of choice. I also ordered the vegetable gyozas and the frites with salt and pepper. The frites were sweet potatoes and regular potatoes. I thoroughly enjoyed my dishes. The vegetarian Bao was well balanced. The aubergine (eggplant) was light and flaky. It wasn't greasy. My husband didn't enjoy his stir fried noodles. Once I tasted it, I thought a little more salt or soy sauce for the salt content would be beneficial. I also thought maybe a little heat would be complimentary to the dish.
