UPDATE - lowering this to one star because both my wife and I got sick last night on this stuff! So I walked into the restaurant thinking I'm going to get som amazing Asian food....as I entered the heat of the inside hit me - it was easily 78 degrees. That should've been my first sign when I walked in. It was hotter inside than it was outside. I picked up the menu looked at it for a hot second and then thought well. I'll just order something. So naturally, I said pad Thai, standard Asian meal. Not at this place they didn't have it and she looked at me strange. So I proceeded to look at the menu and found some random dish that looked decent and ordered. Then I ordered drinks and she told us after we had paid the soda had no carbonation in the machine so we could get the drinks out of the fridge. So we went and got the drinks out of the fridge, sat down open them up they both were flat. I suspect if I had checked the dates they were both expired, but I didn't bother. So we sat down and literally one minute later, the food came out... Which tells me that all the food was likely premade, and this was just a buffet that was hidden in the back. I ate, and it was well.... Let's just say the Woodlands Mall Asian foods a bit better than this stuff. Anyhow, I did encourage the team who works here to turn the AC down a little bit, make sure the fridge doesn't have expired drinks/flat drinks, make the food like they serve it to their family. I'll report back shortly and let you know if there are any biological effects of this food... All that for $45 - two dishes, two flat drinks, two rice. read more

No frills, but we like it. They're "basic" and Westernized but consistent. Tastes fresh, and that's the most important part. It's one of our family's go-to Chinese takeout/delivery spots, -General's Chicken is crispy and never too spicy. -Sesame Beef is pretty tender. -BBQ Pork Fried Rice is a variation that's hard to come by, and my husband likes the little bits of char siu pork, -The Plain Lo Mein is just noodles tossed in a barely-there sauce that my kiddo loves. Sign says Chinese fine dinning. That is not what this is. Ordered orange beef which comes with steamed rice. The beef was too big for chop sticks so had to use the provided plastic ware which melted during use. The fork tines were too small for the plastic knife to fit. The paper plates were soft and leaked. The rice was dry and hard. I was able to eat the orange beef, the Sauce was good but had to pass on the rice. No service to mention. You have to order at the counter and that's your only interaction. Styrofoam cups and cheap lids. I'd like to be more positive but I didn't enjoy the experience and doubt I'll give this one another chance. read more

This was our favorite Chinese restaurant in town and we went 2-3 times a week for takeout. We ordered on uber eats for the deal and made the mistake of accidentally cancelling the order. After speaking with uber eats they told me the merchant was paid because that is their policy and if I still wanted the food to just contact them and tell them It was a simple mistake and since they were going to be paid then they shouldn't have an issue making the food. I spoke with the manager and he told me he has been in the business for years and he's in this to make money and that he won't make my food and I was going to get a refund from uber even though uber told me he was going to get to keep the money. So basically, he said he doesn't need my business and instead of making my food he would rather keep my 35 dollars and lose out on a very regular customer because he's a business genius. I understand there blame on all sides but that's just wrong to keep my money and not make the food, I feel like I've been stolen from. read more

Recently taking over the old Van Thong, BaoBae offers a wide selection of Chinese favorites with fresh veggies and tasty options. It seemed pretty standard fare and they definitely up for the to-go trade. While the inside in certainly a step up from the worn down look Van Thongs sported, the dishes are thin paper plates and to go containers. This is ok, but saucy dishes and soup dumplings were not quite made for these platters. The staff was nice and food is good. Don't skip the egg rolls. read more

Food are served on paper plates. Cups lids do not goes on easy. Drinks are self serve. Soda machine was not turned on, so my husband had tea instead. Another customer turned the key on the side of machine to get soda fountain to work. Food was mediocre. Rice no favor except soy sauce. We were charge higher price then what was on menu. My husband did enjoy the soup and egg roll. But his sweet and sour chicken was hard and dry. My dish was a beef dish...not what I expected & bland tasting. The staff was friendly. You walk in & order at counter.the menu on the counter and one a screen. Both hard to see for older people. Print on the menu counter is very small. The screen menu has a glare. Paper menu is available too. Mostly will not return. We love supporting small business owners but this place need some improvement. I am still in a search for a good Chinese restaurant in Conroe area, but so far I can not really say I found at least a good one. So I went to Baobae since it is new and I saw some good reviews here. First the service, the lady I spoke to is very nice even though I ordered through phone and she is very pleasant in person too. The place is pretty decent I went there on a dead hour of Sunday. So Honestly I can't comment regarding the wait time, but they do have a medium size restaurant. Food, I usually order sweet and sour pork to test the restaurant since this is pretty basic and I consider this dish as a staple food. I came from a place where great Chinese restaurant is abundant and you can really tell the difference. Anyway, the pork breading is too thick and tends to taste a little starchy, the meat is a bit dry and it could use some flavor and tenderizing. The sauce is just sweet and I am looking for a little bit of umami to it. I feel that they didn't cook the veggies, especially the green bell pepper. It tasted iike they just added it right after they packed my food. Their fried rice is kinda acceptable but try to be easy on soy sauce though. Personally I think this restaurant has a great potential and i would like to come back and give it another chance to try their other dishes like Mongolian beef. read more

We ordered takeout. Our order consisted of a Bo-Bo platter for 3. The food was very bland. It did not taste like Chinese food at all and the portion size was like you would give a small child (3-4 years old). We also ordered egg fu young. We received 3 of them which the underside was burnt they placed the burnt side down so you couldn't see it. I can't even describe the gravity for the egg fu young other than it was gross tasting. Our lo Mein was bland as well. I guess the next time I want Chinese food I will look it up on YouTube and make it myself. it mostly likely probably cost a lot less than what we paid for this meal and have leftovers to boot. read more

I would do 5, but, they are very inconsistent. One time food is 5 , next time it isn't very good. Up and down quality. There aren't many good Asian restaurants in Conroe, if there were, these guys would be in trouble. read more
