As you are most likely aware (at least, you should be) the SA Syndicate Happy Hour Posse routinely moves between locations to spread joy and knowledge. Today, we ventured out to the quaint, yet impactful Fralo's pizza establishment. Before that, Bar 301 demanded we explore...and that we did. Being happy hour, you'd expect beer, wine, and cocktails to be offered at a VERY reasonable price. Um, not here. $8 cocktails and $5 domestic beer doesn't excite me. I had the Daily Preparation margarita. It struck me as an organic "skinny" version of it's much tastier cousin. One was enough for me. The Old Fashioned was spot on, though. The appetizers were quite delicious. However, again, I'm not enamored with $13 happy hour fare, especially when they're of the tapas size. Good thing I was headed to Fralo's for dinner (38 steps away.) The bartender was our outdoor server and he was very nice, albeit a tad overwhelmed until help arrived. We had to get up and order at the bar a few times. I LOVE the outdoor seating area and bar. Perfect weather today, and superb company, nearly drowned out the fact that I dropped $40 and felt completely unfulfilled (like a first date in high school.) Bottom line....too pricey for me to truly enjoy. Good food, small portions. Friendly and mostly attentive waitstaff. I may be back, but will certainly eat and have a couple of drinks before arriving. I really wanna make this place a regular stop. Sadly, they seem to be targeting the Dominion crowd. It's neighborhood feel would have bonafide character if the happy hour was just a little bit more focused on keeping you here for several hours. We had a wonderful time celebrating the engagement of dear friends! The party was a surprise and Rafa and his team were amazing. The food was outstanding especially the truffle fries. The music coming from the overhead speakers were quite load but when we asked if they could lower her volume; they were more than accommodating. Classy, clean and courteous! I went there with my girlfriend because I wanted to try something new even though the bar is not close to where I live, I drove 30min from the other side of town thinking that I would receive a good service since it's in the dominion area. All the bartenders seem like they didn't want to be there and looked like they didn't enjoyed working there. I'm pretty sure this has to do with poor management, the whole atmosphere felt boring. That place has potential but the owner or management needs to put more effort in uplifting that place. read more

Terrible service. They were not that busy and was not able to get a drink. The bartenders seem selective. Four of us sat at the bar and were not greeted or acknowledged. The 2 bartenders completely ignored us. Would not even make eye contact. The place is not that big inside, by the way. We waited patiently but when another group arrived 20 mins after we did, and were able to get a drink, we left. A "hello, welcome. We'll be right with you" would have sufficed. Saddest part is that it's under the same ownership as Fralos and the service is completely opposite. If you go to Fralos then Bar 301, don't expect the same level of service. read more

Stopped by to have a round and a bite with my girlfriend before the grand opening. Staff was friendly and quick. Atmosphere was laid back and relaxed, which is nice after a long day at work. Short food menu but good quality and just enough to snack while you have a drink. Full bar, so whatever you fancy, plus house originals. The best part is the place itself. It has indoor and outdoor seating, a more upscale feel but not pretentious, and generally a friendly and relaxed ambiance. I would guess dog friendly, considering the location and the outside seating, but don't quote me on that. Lastly- if the food menu isn't enough, and the alcoholic hangry kicks in, Fralo's is nextdoor to fill your craving for gourmet pizza and apps. Be back soon :) read more

Started a tab with my card and at the completion of my evening signed my credit card tipping both on card and cash knowing cash tips are preferred by the service industry. A week later I notice two separate charges on my credit card, one for the exact amount I authorized and a separate charge the following day. I've been calling non stop with no answer for weeks, I've left messages next door at fralo's with no return calls made. Willing to amend my review if I can be contacted and explained what the separate UNAUTHORIZED charge is on my card. read more

This place was very small, so only come if you enjoy that intimate atmosphere. I have to say, the interior was pretty adorable! I could see the appeal for a small town like Leon Springs. The food and drinks were WAY overpriced for what you get. The Live Jazz was a great treat though. I tried the meet and cheese plate and the truffle fries. They were good, nothing over the top. Not sure what is happening with the bar but the service is definitely not as good as it use to be. Hours are inconsistent. The bartenders tend to close when they want and not the time it says on the internet. Or if they don't close they will only serve beer or wine or a shot of liquor. They are also rude and disrespectful. It's unfortunate because they use to be very good. It sure seems to have hired some non-caring bartenders. read more

My husband and I stopped in this past weekend for a couple cocktails. We were blatantly ignored by the 2 bartenders behind the bar. They were rude and we felt like we were bothering them and it took a lot of hassle to get just 1 cocktail. We left feeling not very welcome and the rude bartender kind of ruined our experience. I think I will avoid this place in the future and tell my friends and family to go elsewhere. I politely waited outside because there was no room. TERRIBLE service!!!!! Bartenders seem to look straight through you. When you finally get to order something from the bar, they then forget. So then the game begins again where they look straight through you until you finally have to wave them down to place an order or remind them of the order that you placed. Been a handful of times normally on a Friday evening after dinner or just hanging out with friends. For as upscale and posh this place is the drinks are good, a bit over priced and a bit slow seemed like it took forever to get drinks to our table. The staff appears to be only attentive to those that they know or those that fit in there. We arrived and didn't have a table so we all crowed around a hi top table with no chairs, but when other clientele show up the manager rearranged tables and chairs and quickly cleaned tables to service others that are either regulars or dressed for a gala. We came to Fralo's many years ago on one of our first dates, and the service was impeccable, not to mention it was the best pizza we'd ever had. Tonight, we brought some friends to Fralo's to introduce them to what we loved so much. They were SO impressed, and we decided to walk to Bar 301 afterwards. All I can say is wow.
