For me, it's not my style. If you're a tourist, this is more about supporting locals. Nothing historic, just lots of cool art. If you're local, I imagine this is the place to get cool unique things. The one thing that's really pretty to see here is the bookstore. Other than that if visiting from another country, I would find other things to see.

This was one of my favorite days in Portugal - spending it at the LX Factory, getting to see the…read morework of local artists, and eating some delicious simple Portuguese food. I came on a weekend so there were tents set up by artists and vendors in a large area which made the day even more interesting. It feels a little to me like a condensed version of the Arts District in LA. It is very busy on the weekend, but worth it to navigate just so you can see all the tents of vendors. There are vintage shops, ceramic shops, cool clothing shops - so many spots to find great gifts and be inspired. It feel industrial/warehouse-y which makes the vibe feel so much more interesting. We ate at Chickinho (pronounced chickeen-yo) because I really was craving some grilled chicken with piri piri oil. This spot specializes in chicken, especially grilled chicken with piri piri. We ordered the whole chicken, got a deliciious red cabbage coleslaw, and some wedge potato fries and a tomato/cucumber/onion salad. Everything was just so fresh and tasty. The piri piri oil was already at the bottom of the dish that the chicken came on so we just kept dipping the pieces of chicken in there and wow was it addicting. I couldn't stop thinking about this meal for a couple of days and really wanted to go back again, but we opted to try another spot that was well known for their piri piri chicken. I have to say overall, I still enjoyed Chickinho the most because of the sides and how well they seasoned and cooked the chicken. And I really liked their piri piri oil.

For lunch they have a set menu to cater to the crowd which isn't bad. They also have a cheese and meat spread which they bring at the beginning of the meal...we made the mistake thinking it was complimentary, little did we know it cost more than our dishes so be careful of that. They have a good selection of wines, the white wine I had was OK but given its big selection I want to give it the benefit of doubt. The service staff is attentive, but sometimes a little too attentive (if you know what I mean) which isn't always appreciated especially when you are there on a business lunch. We also stopped by here after the congress for a drink and there were quite a few more people but easy to get a spot.

I'm going to be honest - we used this place for WiFi! We noticed the nice, clean outdoor seating and the sign for WiFi and chose to stop in for a beverage and the do our Uber business. Husband had two Sagres for happy hour price and I had a chocolate shot of some sort with a Sagres beer and our Uber came shortly after.

A funky rooftop restaurant with extraordinary views and a vibrant feel…read more This place ended up costing us the most on our whole trip. The entrees were on the pricier side, which is something we didn't realize until the end of the trip - when we've had better food, better experience for a more feasible price. The entrees were smaller and less flavorful than we expected. Our bill was also a big one cause of drinks. We ordered: Crispy polenta and cheese balls Razor clams and new potatoes salad with greek yogurt, roasted peppers and cucumbers Game corn dogs with wild-berries fresh sauce and mustard leaves Entrees: we ordered duck, codfish, octopus and a steak dish where no one really enjoyed it... sidenote: I know Codfish is a very popular dish in Portugal - if you don't like that fishy/seawater/fresh-out-of-the-sea taste, you might not like it in Lisbon My friends didn't like the fish and the duck. Gin Fizz was good, as well as the Rosé (we probably ordered like 8 Gin Fizzes - they were that good) -takes CC, Wifi, great view What I recommend - go there for a drink and apps. I think their entrees were disappointing but apps and drinks were great

Before coming to Lisbon, I did a little research on where to find views of the 25 de Abril bridge…read more Rio Maravilha happened to show up as one of the top places for the best views. An experience that I was hoping to capture was unexpectedly shut down. Unfortunately, due to inclement weather, the rooftop was closed to the public. Still an order of cocktails were placed with the attentive server. Shortly thereafter, the tequila based cocktail and a chocolate cocktail were brought to the table. Both drinks were good with two different flavor profiles. The chocolate cocktail with a subtle hint of coffee reminded me of a dessert which could be ideal as a digestif. It also came with a chocolate twig which made the drink a little extra fun. As for the other cocktail, well I'm sure you know how it goes with tequila :) Both drinks cost about $27 USD which was a wee bit more than I anticipated to spend. However, if you could enjoy the views from the rooftop while sipping away a cocktail or two, it will be worth it. Finding this place was also a little tricky. I had to ask the locals to help locate this place. If you're having trouble getting here, be sure to ask the locals.
