Was highly recommended by a friend of a friend. So we went, at the end of the lunch service, around 3 pm.
I got there early as my friend was delayed and as I was starving, ordered ahead. Baby octopus a la plancha was the way I like it, a char outside accentuating the taste and tender meat inside. Patatas bravas were served with a nice spicy mayo instead of the usual aioli. Instead of another seafood I had 2 baby's lamb chops. Very lamby tasting, which I like, but a bit tough for baby lamb.
When my friend arrived he also ordered the octopus on my recommendation but had grilled swordfish as well. It was cut very thin, as they do in Spain, so for me not as good as a thick cut piece which can be made with a tender interior. But they charge by the 100 grams, so a thick cut piece would be too expensive, and small. It was good, though.
Decent prices, as always. The room was your typical old skool Spanish restaurant look. Waiter was your old skool career type. I had told him I was waiting for someone and when my friend arrived 30 mins late he got his order, made sure we didn't want anything else, and then they shut down the kitchen. Pretty sure he held it open for us that extra 30 mins without saying a word or rushing us. That's cool! read more
