Cadre franchement sympathique et authentique : ne croit-on pas rajeunir de quelques années et revivre les bons moments de son séjour linguistique en Irlande ? C'est d'ailleurs un architecte de Dublin qui réalisa cette pittoresque salle, à la demande des propriétaires Muriel et Laurent Donse. Un savant fouillis d'ustensiles typiques, voire hétéroclites (chopes en grès, bouteilles, vélo, etc.) en guise de décoration et, derrière le comptoir "counter service only" - une vieille épicerie reconstituée ! Bref, une ambiance certaine se dégage de ce lieu où l'on peut à sa guise, partager un déjeuner ou déguster une bière entre amis. Il faut goûter le chausson au poulet et le fin Irish stew. A noter, pour les malins, qu'entre 19h et 21h, la pinte de Kilkenny, Guinness, Shongrow, 1664 ou autre Bud-Brugs est moins chère !

At first I thought we would have a long wait to be seated but we were pleasantly surprised when the waiters broke a table off of a larger group of tables and set it up for us. My French is horrible and the waiter's English was as good as my French, but we got through the ordering process okay. If you order a bottle of wine you'll receive a side of ham with espelette peppers. We also ordered cod fritters, fried camembert with salad and ham, patatas bravas, and beef with peppers. Everything was good with the cod fritters being the best of the group. The only thing we did not like was the patatas bravas which were a little oily and I did not like the sauce it was served with.

I am not…read moresure what was in the cocktails but they seemed to be popular and the bartenders even made some mocktails for 2 kids out with their parents. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Bayonne, if for nothing else just to stare at all of the great stuff on the walls.
