On a last minute dinner adventure, we found Bratschall Manala on our evening walk in Kayserberg,…read moreand it was not a disappointment as it was a quick discovery along the cobblestone road! Small inside, it seated mostly French tourists from other parts of France, but I was happy there was a table two by the wall for us. Apparently, the restaurant also had some German influences as we noticed some German dishes listed on the menu. What we had: 1/2 F O I E G R A S S A L A D E : I really wanted foie gras so we split a salad that is now one of the best salads that I ever had. So simple and adorned with raw mushrooms, picked radish, squash, beets, apples, seeds, olives, fried bread, and of course, foie gras! It was so good for two and I linger for it to this day. Q U I C H E L O R R A I N E & S A L A D E : Cheesy, eggy, thick bacon, and too big for me, I just love real french quiche lorraine and I was happy I decided on it. Although I would have liked pomme frites, I wasn't sure if it was okay that I ask for it, but I noticed someone else had a quiche and had pomme frites. LA C H È V R E T A R T E : A big tarte nearly a size of a pizza, with cheese, thick bacon, and baby goat cheese on top. It was yummy too, but it tasted very similar to my quiche. So we made a mistake in ordering similar items but in different forms, but nonetheless, we both liked the restaurant for a quick last minute find in Kayserberg x

It turns out that everyone enjoyed eating here more than anyplace else on the visit to Strasbourg, including a couple of Michelin-star stops. The burger (topped with ham and cheese) was juicy, well-seasoned and delicious. It was served with very good fries and a fresh green salad. The steak tartare, served on top of crispy hash-brown potatoes, was met with high praise. In addition to main courses, the restaurant has a showcase of beautiful desserts. Due to time constraints, we did not stay for dessert. Service here is excellent. The food came out quickly, and the servers were extremely attentive. When we were ready to leave, they were quick with the bill. They seemed to understand that you may have limited time, so everything moved at a relatively fast pace.

As I was exploring some cities along the Rhein I found myself craving a really good cup of coffee at a really good coffee shop. I'm talking a third wave, artisanal, single-origin, bordering on pretentious, independent coffee shop. Yelp led me to Cafe Bretelles and I was not disappointed! Don't be turned off by what looks like a tiny coffee shop- there's a second level with more seating if the outdoor seats and first level are full. Just place your order at the counter and take a table number. We got an oat milk cappuccino (1 shot of espresso and steamed milk), an oat milk flat white (2 shots espresso and steamed milk), a hot chocolate, and a shot of espresso. The espresso-based drinks were just what I was after. They were rich, bold, and creamy. The hot chocolate was more like warm than hot, but packed on the flavor. Overall, this is a spot I'd frequent for if I was in Strasbourg more often. For now, it'll be a fond memory of a perfect cup of coffee in a sea of underwhelming hotel coffee.

Finally found it and was underwhelming. It was a micro place with seating for 6 people, one seat available and I sat there while my wife ordered. We were told we could not be served, we asked if we could wait inside and rudely told we have to wait outside in the cold. Don't come here there are plenty of bakeries that serve cappuccinos. I am writing his review while siting inside Secret De Table with plenty of seating where it is warm and drinking a great cappuccino.
