Unassuming as it is, this is the town's social center. Owner Antonio Nelson is a one-man supply chain. He serves his own wine, olives, cheese, honey, and wild pig, among other products. Pizza (Italian style) is delicious as it comes right out of the wood fire oven. Only Italian is spoken here (Antonio's daughter speaks a little English), but we found the communication effort part of the charm during our two night stay in Circello at Antonio's other business, the L'Ammiraglio Nelson farm B&B.
The bar is frequently filled with locals, including most of the elderly men playing cards and obviously relishing the camaraderie. It's a true slice of rural Campagnia life.
Prices for food and drink are very reasonable. Ask Antonio to bring you something special and you'll get a memorable meal in a very convivial environment. If you're a liqueur aficionado, don't miss the Limoncello and Strega. read more
