The restaurant is very cozy and tucked on Emily Plater street. We did not have reservation, and visited during lunch hours, but seating outside was not problem. However we were advised that reservation is usually needed. Staff was very nice and accommodated us immediately. The menu is short with some polish classics deconstructed in some way. We had : Tartare--it is a Polish staple and I must admit I can put it on my top list. Very delicate, brilliantly combined with all the toppings. You can feel the quality of the meat on the first bite. Marinated Herring--with soured milk was another delicious dish that made our experience a pleasure one. Served on baked potatoes were a great starter without argument. Sour Cucumber Soup--another dish famous for Polish cuisine. Nice deconstruction with horseradish and smoked trout was very interesting. Deer Pate--served with young beets, currants, home mayo and bread, served with homemade bread. All the good things ready to spread on the fresh bread. They also have good selection of wine and craft local beers. I wish we could try more menu items and I believe they would be as good as everything that we had tried. My husband and I ordered a couple bottled fruit beverages, an espresso, mushroom and sauerkraut pierogis, a side of cream spinach and blueberry and apricot pancakes for 53 PLN or about $15 US! The quality didn't compare to the Michelin Star, Muzealna, we had the day before, but we appreciated the simplicity of our last meal before leaving Poland. The women's uniforms in the kitchen and how they serve food through the window is reminiscent of the communist era. On our second visit I ordered exactly the same thing for dinner, duck, the duck arrived with wonderfully roasted potatoes, covered with cooked apples and berries and accompanied by a bowl of cooked shredded beetroot. It was all very tasty, a nice large portion and perfectly cooked. My wife ordered the potato pancake dinner, I was enjoying my duck so much I never even tried her dish but she assured me that it was very tasty. I wouldn't consider this to be a gourmet restaurant, I would say it is a traditional Polish Restauranja with large portions of excellent food cooked with love.
