Cucciuzzu, the owner, used to come from the sea with his boat on hot days, selling ice cream to all of us dying for refreshment. Later on Cucciuzzu opened two land-based ice cream cafés and he started making ice cream history. He invented the concept of "gelato imbottito", literally "stuffed ice cream", a blend of different flavours mixed with bits of sponge cake. To dye for. Cucciuzzu sadly passed away a couple of years ago, but the business is continued by his family with equal success. And I cross fingers that they will go on for the next million years. Great ice cream!
