Like Guinness tasting better in Ireland., gelato tastes better in Italy. I. Additional to gelato, De Vivi has a scrumptious pastry counter and coffee bar. Like heaven on earth. Like most places in italy, you first go to the cash register, pay for what you want, then go to the food counter, give the attendant your receipt and get your gelato or pastry or coffee. Not touristy. Many locals were hanging out enjoying their treats. Well worth the visit.

Quick dessert stop on a trip to Pompeii; Everything was quite decent!…read more Pastiera was unbelievable! Really soft and fresh and had the perfect amount of sweetness and that hint of lemon coming through. Such a good dessert. I could totally have another slice! Crostata al cioffolato - chocolate flavor was nice but the pastry was a little too dry so overall this item wasn't as nice. Affogato - quite a large amount of coffee and the gelato felt a little too less. So the espresso flavor came through very strong. Love the presentation for this though! Passion fruit gelato - had a little tanginess to it (not properly sweet) but I actually quite enjoyed it! Kinder gelato was probably the favorite among the other gelato flavors fried. Dad and brother both ordered this! They had a lot of cakes on display that looked extremely delicious and tempting as well!

Cannoli was decent - crunchy shell with creamy filling, but I've had better Cannoli in Rome. Gelato was delicious! Proper creamy and actually authentic! Got the Cioccolato con Caco del Madagascar (basically a chocolate gelato) + Ricotta Stregata (a ricotta flavor) in a cone. It was a really lovely combination and so perfect for a hot day.

This address is the main location along Via Duca Mansone I, they also have a couple other smaller chocolate and gelato boutiques, the closest being diagonally across the piazza in front of the Amalfi Cathedral. Outdoor seating set out on the stone street fronts with a cream and wood color scheme and table umbrellas for shade. The store interior shouts classic European emporium, warm, medium-tone wooden display fixtures and wall paneling with mirrors and glass. A handful of golden chandeliers and pendant lights. Most importantly--many glass displays of pastries, cakes, chocolates, cookies. The staff is forthcoming and friendly, ready to help when I mentioned looking for a snack without certain ingredients. Their English was much better than my (non-existent) Italian. I ended up purchasing a little bag of almond cookies €6, with a texture between almond cake and marzipan, baked in little mini cupcake cup shapes. They were tasty though a little on the sweet side. Prices in the store were pretty typical for Amalfi Coast though I think a little higher than average pasticcerias in other Italian cities. I had planned to drop by again to try their gelato though alas didn't have the chance again when I was there. If I ever go back to Amalfi will drop by again!

The Caprese salad was fresh and bursting with flavor, and the prosciutto salad was beautifully balanced with just the right mix of savory and sweet. Every ingredient tasted incredibly fresh and thoughtfully prepared. The drinks were equally impressive. The house Posides Spritz was refreshing and perfectly balanced made with a cherry liquor, and the limoncello spritz was smooth, bright, and easily one of the best we've had in Italy. We finished with an affogato that was the perfect finale, rich espresso poured over creamy gelato for a sweet, satisfying finish along with the seasonal cake. Service was warm, friendly, and attentive throughout the evening, making the experience feel personal and relaxed. The restaurant is a bit of a walk from the city center with a few stairs to climb, but it's absolutely worth it. The stroll back down afterward is the perfect way to walk off the meal. Between the amazing food, stunning terrace views, and kind service, Posides is a true Positano gem.

The space is small and charming, with an open kitchen where you can watch the magic happen. There's limited seating, but it's well worth the wait. The food is incredible; fresh, creative, and full of heart. The cappuccino was perfect, and the carbonara toast was unforgettable. I still think about it. The French toast was another standout, made with thick custardy brioche, fresh berries, and a crème brûlée topping that was absolute perfection. Everything feels local and seasonal, and the menu changes often, which makes every visit special. An amazing spot with a cozy vibe, beautiful plating, and some of the best food I had anywhere in Italy.

But! The water charge *was* remembered on the receipt. Uh, not good. 3rd - don't expect all your food to be delivered - we sat with one family member with NO FOOD SERVED. Again, we had 7 people and 6 dishes were served. It doesn't take a genius to figure this stuff out. 4th - This is the worst part of all - when we asked to speak to a manager about not receiving food ordered (that we would pay for) the owner came out and insulted us by asking "where you people come from?" Huh?? Are you kidding me? This is the picture of the NASTY owner and all the employees looking aghast at this nightmare scene. She's the one in all black with a pissed off expression. Not worthy of 1 star. This restaurant needs to shut down in shame. Do not go here.
