It is popular with gay clientele (and has been for decades) but actually has a wider mix of clientele than that might suggest, out of season. The decor hasn't changed in years: there's a main room downstairs (with a semi-private "glass box" for a private meeting), more seating upstairs when they are busy. May people prefer to sit outside and people watch, though. On our last visit we met friends there for coffee and cake. as ever, the cakes were great (and though they're over €5, portions are generous). Staff were happy to let us linger, which is just as well because it was very busy, and service was a little slow, but friendly enough. But we're still happy to go back!

Because one pays a flat rate for the brunch, and beverages cost extra (of course). The price for brunch varies depending on the day. I believe that Sunday cost a bit more but has also a bigger selection and warm meals. I love their brunch selection and their warm meals. I think this place is mainly frequented by locals as it is not in a busy area or an area that one would expect a restaurant to be. The reason why it is a family restaurant is that right next door to the restaurant is an awesome playground. It is so great that it makes me want to be a kid again. When we walked in all the tables were "reserved" but apparently they're not if you don't order anything from the kitchen because they couldn't handle the pressure, when we said we wanted cake we were "allowed" to sit on one of the tables. We've ordered three cakes - Apple strudel which is a huge slice of it in warm vanilla sauce. Black magic - a super concentrated chocolate cake Hazelnut caramel pie - which was buttery and had a generous layer of chocolate on top, sweet just in the right amount. Unfortunately, I sat by the bar and I saw that drinks are standing on the counter for several minutes (coffee should be served as quick as possible, everything else can wait for a while) Also, our cakes were on the counter for a while, I wanted them so bad that I almost got up and took them myself! The strudel was served in two minutes and for everything else we waited for like 15. Weird. But it was noticeable they couldn't handle the pressure and the amount of orders. Too bad, I'm sure it's nicer when it's a bit more laid back.
