After each operation, I went through physical therapy -- not the PT affiliated with the practice, but one closer to my home -- and I recovered to the point where I resumed playing racquetball and walking 10 - 12 miles each week within the time frame he had projected. Three years ago, I ruptured the Achilles tendon in my right leg. Dr. Reznik repaired that, too, and after PT, I again resumed my crazy schedule with competitive racquetball and fitness walking. I'm playing in a regional USA Racquetball tournament in MA this weekend, and when I walk, I use hand weights within tight time frames so I really press my knees. I've found that each time I've seen Dr. Reznik, he's taken the time to listen to what happened, how I feel, and the impact the injury has had on my activities. He also shares all the images with me and explains what he's seeing and why he's suggesting one course of treatment over another. Frankly, I was impressed one time that he suggested I NOT have surgery to see how the torn meniscus would feel after use and try to manage it with exercise and PT. It worked for some months, but I did eventually have surgery after I injured it again. He suggested that I call his chiropractor, Craig O'Connell, so I did and he has never disappointed me. My husband was going to Yale for a back injury injury that seemed to be getting worse despite painful injections and pills. They said his only option was surgery that would require a year to recover from and restrict his to lifting no more that 25 lbs. He was only 24! I did some research and decided to try a Chiropractor. Craig examined him, took x-rays and said he couldn't repair the damage but he thought he could treat the symptoms, relieve his pain and help him manage the injury. He said he wanted to see him 3 times a week for 8 weeks, but, in 6 visits he would know if he could help him. Craig is a therapeutic Chiropractor, he doesn't do hard adjustments unless you ask and he puts emphasis on Prevention. How the way you move and stand can affect you, especially in jobs that require standing, lifting and repetitive motions. After 4 weeks he reduced the visits to twice a week, by the end of 6 weeks Mark was a different person with no pain and almost full range of motion. He went back for "touchups" whenever he felt that he overdid it but this was light years away from what he expected and we are both grateful. I have had some back stress and a painful, traumatic injury from work but Craig was always there when I called for help and ergonomic suggestions to help me at work. He is a kind, generous man who is dedicated to his practice and his patients. I honestly cannot say enough good things about him and I dread his retirement which I hope is a long way off.
