The ladies are very cool, and my girl was Shirley or Sandy or nice woman with name started with an S, did my cut. I told her make it good and short, and she did exactly as I asked. She was super nice to me on phone and then in person, and got me in fast, and got me out fast (and I asked her to do that, as I snuck out of work and was still on clock lol). I was completely satisfied after. I definitely recommend these ladies at The Barber Pole. It wasn't super-crowded, she got me in/out fast, and gave me a great cut exactly how I wanted it. When we walked in, the master barber was on a facetime call with (what I'm assuming was) his child. No big deal, as a mom- I get it. However, he didn't say a word to us, just motioned towards his chair. I awkwardly started to try and explain what we usually have done at the other shop we go to, while he was still talking to his child, and before I knew it, my son's hair was basically going to have to become a buzz cut. I tried telling him we usually keep it long on top (to which he responded, "oh.") but it was too late at that point. While it could definitely have been a communication error on my end, he did not take the time to listen or discuss anything with me before he started buzzing. My son is so upset and now will have to deal with weeks of growing his hair back out because the barber couldn't be bothered to get off the phone and speak to us. He did finally get off the phone, but he still said nothing throughout the cut. The cut itself isn't even good- completely uneven in the front. He also cut my son's neck in several places and he said it was the most painful haircut he has ever gotten. He took another personal phone call during the appointment as well. The whole experience was just awful and the mom guilt for even taking him here is the cherry on top. I'd post a picture of the cut, but he won't let me take one.

The Barber in the first chair, closest to the entrance (with the man bun) asked me if I needed help but he said that he was booked until 6pm and on top of that, he wasn't very friendly. Seriously? Two people were at the counter, and one at the cash register. Where did the barbers get their customer service skills? Definitely, not a culturally friendly establishment. I felt discriminated against because I am white, and my son is bi-racial, and his mother is African American. We will never take my son to this place again.
