We relaxed with drinks and soon enough, brought inside. The food...OMG. I had braised beef and my husband has the 3 fish trio. The food was by far some of the best we have had during our trip, We wanted the dessert but no way could we eat it. They looked so amazing too. It's pretty easy to find and is probably one of the nicer looking restaurants around in Newquay. The staff are really friendly and professional - our waiter offered to take our picture, and was generally a very nice man. We didn't have a starter, but for mains we had a sort of seafood soup, which seemed pretty good value for money, considering the amount of seafood it contained (various types of fish, three large tiger prawns, some smaller prawns, mussels, cockles and two crab claws) - it's messy, but the staff are prepared and put out all the various utensils required, including a finger bowl and antibacterial gel! (That's a first for me...!) Hubby had the steak and scallops - these are some of the freshest, sweetest scallops I've ever had. If you're feeling adventurous, I would try the Cornish mead (I had strawberry flavour) - it's very drinkable, and (in my opinion) pretty strong! But very enjoyable. She told someone else to serve the food order queue -he slammed his paper down and come over. If it wasn't for the fact the family was hungry I would have gone. We have stayed at another Premier Inn and found this one to be far superior altho both were new Premier Inns (so the furnishings were the same). The staff could not have been more friendly or helpful, the room was up to Premier Inn's usual high standard (with freely given extra's in terms of coffee and milk supplies). We always book a family room (two adults, one two year old and one 12 year old) and never find they give enough towels lol so that was no different but could not fault this Premier Inn otherwise at all. The building itself was a refurbished Georgian hotel I think, and a lot more solid than the usual new build motel and that also made a difference (see size of rooms reference below). Personally I love the decor of Premier Inn rooms altho it may not suit all comers. It tends to be quite modern and clean lined.., brown leather and purple in tone (without being brash) but I think that looks good. My teenage son thinks its the ultimate in cool lol. The beds are very comfortable and high lol.., sometimes u feel like u might find a stepladder suitable lol. The children are given single beds/cotbeds or put u ups that slide under the main bed. In this hotel my older son had a nice single bed. We had a drink at the in hotel bar later in the evening and again, found the staff very helpful. The Bar was actually quite full (not always the case) and the atmosphere was good (again, not always the case) without being overpowering. The next day we had an excellent if understaffed breakfast as mentioned above (they often seem to run out of crockery and u might have a slight wait for items that have run out as harrassed staff run themselves ragged). The cereal buffet is always first class (including a selection of fruit salad/organic yoghurts etc and toast) as well as a hot breakfast.., as much as u like served at your table. The children love the muffins (chocolate and blueberry lol). All in all, we find the Premier Inn offer very good value for money (family rooms are generally £50-60 a night no matter how many people stay - usually cater for two adults and two children). At this hotel our room was more than roomy enough to cater for us (not always the case, it can be a bit squashed).

I would go as far as saying that too cut it had too apply so much pressure too cut through, I now have a blister on my finger. Again another piece of meet that did not come off the bone clean at any point. To finish the meal we had the milkshakes that were huge and looked good. Taste was good but prefer them to be a thick shake. As an attempt at being a bbq and grill they are ok, just need to cook the meat so it is tender.

We shared the BBQ meat plate, and whilst it was not bad, the coleslaw was too wet and the brisket was too dry - but overall a good 'American' effort... would recommend you get a 'bathroom' sign, rather than toilets :-)
