But, I stuck around and ended up getting a great "business man's" haircut. Great conversation with my barber too. What was best was the ~$16 cost for the cut. Two things that stood out were: 1) he put gel in my hair because he knew my next stop was lunch and he didn't want hair cuttings in my food! 2) he didn't need to be asked to trim my eyebrows - he just did it. Quick and detail oriented which I appreciate. This is my go-to spot in the market for a bi-weekly haircut. I'm looking forward to a hot shave soon. TVs playing some Netflix, however it stopped every couple of minutes and restarted, which was annoying. There were just two barbers, but within a few minutes a few more customers came in and soon after a couple more barbers. The haircut by a very young gentleman was perfect. He took so much care to every part of the cut. Would have liked a wash after, however it seemed it was not possible. A hot towel was a nice touch at the end. Would definitely come back.

When I heard the Elise and Larry (Elise's husband) would be opening a shop, I was super excited. When you enter the shop, it is clean, bright and modern looking and has a very welcoming feel. All of the workstations are spread out with lots of space to ensure that all of the current protocols are met and they take cleaning and sanitation very seriously. I can't comment on the cuts personally from the other barbers, but I know that Elise and Larry went out and recruited the best barbers they could find. If I couldn't get my hair cut by Elise, I would immediately get a cut from any other barber as I know that they would not disappoint. The Lion's Mane Barbershop is definitely worth visiting, so much so that I make the 25 minute trip from Kanata to only go here.

You'll need to checkin online early in the morning to get an appointment, especially on weekends. We visited on a Sunday. I checked in online at 10am (when they open) and got a call back within 15 minutes, letting us know our appointment was at 11:30. By 11:30 all their appointment slots were full for the day. All barbers have been great and take the time to listen to what you want. They are great with kids! Many of the chairs have a tv in the mirror, which my kids love. The waiting area is also great for parents or siblings who have to wait. They have free coffee or Soda, video games, fooseball, iPads, tvs and comfy chairs. The prices are reasonable and they take the time at the end to make sure they got everything right! They also have a lot of nice mens hair products to choose from.
