A domestic airport connecting Rio to different parts of Brazil. It's a smaller airport but it's super close to the heart of Rio. From Lapa, it only takes about 15 minutes to get to Santos Dumont Airport.
The only irritating part I've experienced here was nobody seems to be able to help me at the ticketing office and check-in counter at LATAM to get an upgrade. Their app won't let me upgrade after multiple attempts so I decided, I'll do it in person. But nope, they're not helpful.
Aside from that, I liked flying out of this airport. It has a shopping area and a hotel connected to the airport. Starbucks is on the same floor as the check-in counters before security. There's a McDonald's and a bunch of Brazilian eateries. There are shops you can get gifts, souvenirs, coffee, chocolate, toys, etc.
The best part is its proximity to Sugarloaf Mountain. You can see it as you're taxiing on the runway, at takeoff/ landing.
