Very clique, had to wait 15 min for service took orders from other people walking by, while taking ours. Had cowboy boots on, but most people were wearing Polo or golf shirts with deck shoes guess I didn't fit the motif of the establishment. Screwed up the order and was pissed when we said this is not what we ordered. Had manager talk to us and made every excuse to blame us. Said to him what is so hard about a Manhattan and a ultra. A great after work chill spot just a little bit away from Kemah. I came here with co-workers one night and really enjoyed the experience! You get to enjoy watching the water from basically on top of a big boat, which is fun! The drink options here are pretty good - make sure to check in and claim your free drink offer if it's available! I don't have much to say about the food though. Our group ordered wings and nachos, and both were pretty average - nothing bad or special to write home about. They do Wing Wednesday though, so if you order at the right time, the wings come at a great price! read more

We went for steak night (10oz sous vide filet, baked potato and a salad) and the steak was amazing. Tender, juicy, and a great crust. Highly recommend it. However, they charged my credit card more than what I signed for. Could it be an honest mistake, yes. We took my nephew for his 21st birthday. It was a pretty good time. The bartenders were all attentive and helped make it a fun event for his big day. The prices are fairly reasonable for the area. My wife and sister were not a huge fan of the barge moving, but after a few drinks they didn't seem to notice. (Yes this is an actual barge and it moves with the water, just a heads up if you get motion sickness). Overall I enjoyed the few hours we spent here and would come back. read more

I usually enjoy myself here with zero problems. Last week, a group of coworkers and myself were celebrating a promotion. The first female bartender that we had downstairs was absolutely wonderful and her male relief was even better! After the band started to play, we took the group upstairs so we didn't have to shout over each other. This is where we encountered problems with the upstairs bartender. I believe his name was Sean? He started off extremely rude and was more worried about closing out someone else's tab as opposed to starting a new one. He barked at me to "wait"....so I walked off. He lacked professionalism all around. Constant smoke breaks. Ignoring our group. He denied one of my co-workers a second beer and said he saw him stumble multiple times when in fact the guy had just gotten off work to meet us there and was sober (he was confused with another part of the crowd). His Bloody Mary was the absolute bare minimum. I was very disappointed considering our party was there from 7 to about 1:30 AM with an open tab!!!!! read more

As a chick out of town who works construction, this is one of those places that's a "local" spot. Traveling it's fantastic they have the outside volleyball and chill area and then the original barge open. They are both equally awesome. The barge is a great place to sit and watch the Wednesday evening boat races around Clear Lake. The menu is limited but sufficient for snacks to accompany a good brew or cocktail. We ordered shrimp taco, ahi tuna tacos, shrimp and salad. Was it great? Not really. But is was as good a fare one could expect from a place with certain limitations. One drawback was the smoking and it one behoove this establishment to designate a smoking area. We had to move away from the table a few times to avoid the smoke blowing our way. If one is a non smoker then one certainly doesn't like smoke heading in one's direction while eating. Will we go back? Probably. It's got potential and I am sure they will figure it out. read more

I finally got boudin (I added beef) nachos from Barge 295 and they were even better than I imagined! The kitchen was extremely slow today, but the manager and staff were very kind and accommodated us for the long wait. It was worth it! They have stuffed tator tots on the menu and they are life changing! I didn't get a picture because we devoured them so quickly! They basically tasted like fried loaded mashed potatoes with the perfect amount of all things great with a stiff, yet soft, melt-in-your-mouth consistency. I was so full from these two items that I had to bring the rest home. The atmosphere was fun with a decent DJ. This has always been our go to place but in our recent visits we have been extremely disappointed in their food. Highly recommend coming for the view, drinks and staff but would pass on the food. Usually have live music on the weekends and dog friendly!! They have been consistently out of wings on weekends and have had to unthaw them, to then serve undercooked chicken wings. The cheeseburger tacos are no longer ground beef but served as slices of a cooked hamburger patty. The shrimp tacos were undercooked, the shrimp was raw. Yikes! Cheesy tots appear to be bought in bulk and frozen, pre-made with all the "toppings" inside. The alligator bites also appear to have been bought in bulk as some type of pre-made frozen item that is filled with lots of breading. Barely can even find the alligator meat pieces. Not at all what you would expect when ordering cheesy tots or gator bites. They both come out looking like hush puppies. Will give them points for the atmosphere, great staff and tasty french fries. This is still a wonderful place for beers and drinks. read more

Don't buy a preferred seat, no body sits and they are completely empty during the show because you can't see. Our grilled oysters were cold, and the tacos were not prepared as requested. I got a to-go order and this can't even be considered food. I ordered a Bloody Mary Grilled Cheese. It's mushy soggy greasy and disgusting. You can't even pick it up. Mashed potatoes would be easier to eat with your hands. The bacon is black like its burnt but chewy like its raw. There was no effort into making this. Who ever the cook is should be fired and never allowed to make food for another living soul again... not even for himself. I thought I'd give this place a try but if this is a sign of the quality this place has to offer I'd rather lick the floors of Walmart. It's like they microwaved two pieces of bread in a bowl of water and said damn I'm one hell of a chef. My trash can does even deserve to have this in it. If I could I would attempt to incinerate it but there so much liquid in this "sandwich" it would never even light. The vibe of the place and view was beautiful. As far as the food, it wasn't what I expected. The service and the people were awesome. My wife and I ordered wings, oysters, a burger with fries and some boudin balls. The seasoning on the wings weren't there. The oysters were pretty good. The burger and fries were decent and the boudin balls weren't too great. We each took one bite and were done. Barge 295 is more for drinks and not food.
