I can't say enough good things about Dr. Barger. He is truly one of the most down-to-earth and genuine chiropractors I've ever met. From the very first visit, it was clear that he actually takes the time to get to know his patients, listen to their specific concerns, and treat them like family--not just another appointment on the schedule. I've been less than careful with my body over the years. So I'm kinda experienced with chiropractors and techniques. I'm pretty sure I've been to 12 different chiropractors over the years. I can honestly say Dr. Jeff Barger is one of if not the best chiropractor I've ever been adjusted by. He is the only chiropractor who has ever been able to adjust my T1 and T8 vertebrae. He, as mentioned in other reviews, is old school. This means he does manual manipulation and gets you fixed in one session. There is none of that managed care model crap. Where you get the meeting and told you need to be seen 3 times a week for 4 weeks then 2 times etc etc. Jeff takes flat $50, adjusts everything, gives you some homework for ice and / or stretching. Your follow-up is based on you. He is very knowledgeable in Chinese medicine as well. I have only been a few times, but unless he or I move, I will not be looking for another chiropractor. I've seen dozens of chiropractors and D.O's throughout the last 40 years, as I moved around the country - due to scoliosis and injuries. Upon returning to the KC area, I began seeing Dr. Barger's uncle before he retired and have pretty much stuck with Dr. Barger for the last 20+ years. And it's not for a lack of trying! I moved away from KCK and then he moved in the opposite direction. I now drive over 40 minutes to see him. I have tried several chiros closer (as the drive has gotten more difficult due to a recent MVA). I've even had some refuse me because my issues were so complicated! I've given a rare few of them several tries to "figure me out" but so far (even after 20 visits) I haven't had any luck finding any as good as Dr Jeff Barger...I'm not even hoping for better...just good as. But alas.... I have not found one yet! He is a 3rd generation chiropractor, and that really means something when the schools aren't even teaching half of what he knows anymore. (His uncle was exceptional as well!) My greatest fear is that he retires before I die! On top of everything...he is a REALLY good human! Dr. Jeff Barger is the ONLY chiropractor I will visit and the only one I will recommend. There is a stigma surrounding chiropractors but he really breaks all those down. First off, he gets the job done right, the FIRST time. He doesn't mess around with tools and isn't afraid to put some pressure on you. This is why you won't need to see him multiple times per week - unless you just want to stop in to soak up his humor. He's so funny and keeps the conversation going the whole time which in turn helps keep you relaxed. He charges $50 for an adjustment and is walk in only (you can sign in then leave to wait then come back and you'll be next if they've passed you which is great) which is a steal. Most I visited charge you for a "consultation" before they will work on you. His grandparents were chiropractors so he's old fashioned but it's that old fashioned that makes him the best. You will NOT regret it. He's so knowledgeable and wants to get you feeling great without the hassle. read more
