But just as important as the products is where I buy them from. One of my favourite beauty hangouts is Superdrug or Boots 'Mini Me!', as I like to call it. Navigating the store is pretty simple. It is well laid out and clearly signed, which is a big plus when you're making a hit and run pitstop there. What I love about this place is the variety within their beauty and skin zones with pricing to suit beauty divas on all budgets. Mua has eyeshadows (in must-have shades of moss green, electric blue and purple, great colours but to get the full colour depth you will need to build the colour up), eyeliners (serviceable, but not lacking durability) and kohl pencils (a total bargain) for £1 and foundations for £2 (light - medium coverage which blends well). I also have to give an honourable mention to my new favourite range Beauty UK. If you like super sexy packaging, a rainbow of colours to die for and some of the best lip gloss I've used in a while, try lip lust Envy - £2.99 - my resistance was entirely futile, so I brought two ! Just around the corner in the mid price section was one of those rare misses at Superdrug, Famous by Sue Moxley. I've watched this range with interest since it first launched at Superdrug in 2008. It is a good cosmetics range (its eyeshadows and bronzers are exceptional) , but Famous is not amazing cosmetics line, which it needs to be to stand out, especially when the beauty market is so crowded ! Their packaging needs more pop and bearing the likes of TOWIE's Amy Childs is a fan, why not capitalise on this in a 'classy 'way by using her or another minor celebrity as the face of the brand. Famous principle problem is its price point which is a little too expensive for what it offers, but the good news is that the range is currently on clearance at Superdrug, so if you want to try the range out, now's your chance. Then I bumped into an old cosmetic classic - Bloom is back at Superdrug. My only complaint is the same one I always have about Bloom in Superdrug - uninspiring point of purchase displays and missing stock. Replenishment is a must in beauty in-store marketing. It's hardly rocket science is it ? In the skincare section Superdrug also stands out. Whenever there is a killer designer skincare 'miracle must have', like using cleansing balms with a muslin cloth, Superdrug always turns around a budget alternative that works. I picked up their Vitamin E Hot Cloth Cleanser (with muslin cloth included) for £2 - easy on my purse and works like a charm! In terms of staff, it really does depends on who you talk to to at Superdrug. The one trick Superdrug are missing out on is having a trained make-up artist or two ,manning the beauty zones, like MAC does. In the run up to Christmas or even on a Saturday, at their prime location stores, they would be incredibly useful and could also hold in store make-up demonstrations on make-up applications. The only downside to Superdrug are their giftsets. Comparing Superdrug giftsets to the mighty Boots, is a complete non starter. Superdrug's final Bisi score : B -

I always leave with a bag of Jakeman's throat sweets... effective for keeping the vocals in good working order. A good local drug store that hopefully won't be affected by supermarkets and recession.

Been going there for months for some recurring health conditions. Never had a problem until today -…read morewhen a member of staff treated me with rudeness, contempt and extreme unprofessionalism. I challenged his behaviour and he replied with further rudeness. Another customer who was also being served stopped me before I left to tell me she also thought his behaviour was unacceptable so I went back to speak to a more senior member of staff. The whole situation was treated poorly and I won't be going back there.

Highly recommend this pharmacy to others - one of the best in town!
