We cannot express enough gratitude for the exceptional care, dedication, and expertise she provided in saving our beloved Irish Setter, Seamus. After months of frustration, misdiagnoses, and heartbreak with other veterinarians, Dr. McNeil stepped in and performed nothing short of a miracle. For five long months, Seamus suffered from a range of life-threatening health issues that other vets either overlooked or failed to treat properly. Despite numerous visits to our Washington State his condition only worsened, and we were losing hope. That all changed when we drove 3,000 miles back to our Vet of 25 years in Georgia, Dr. McNeil's Lake Park office. I have been using Valdosta Animal Hospital since 2021 and I've never had a complaint about them…read moreuntil today. I boarded my dogs for the weekend and provided the food they eat (Farmer's Dog). If anyone knows Farmer's Dog is not cheap and considering that I have 2 dogs, I pay a little over $200 a month for their food. Well, one of my dogs is ONLY supposed to get 1/4 of the food from their packet. I provided the boarding with 1 1/2 packets of that dog food, meaning that I should have at least had a whole packet of food left. When I picked up my dogs, the container I store the food in was completely empty. Then I was asked if I was supposed to have food left and I said yes. They looked in the freezer and the food was completely gone. I was told that "at least they were fed good." That's not the point! Their food is portioned and I received their food by mail once a month! So now you're messing up my portions because you can't PAY ATTENTION!!! I was livid to say the least because it's not hard to pay attention to the packaging with the portions! AND when I drop them off I get asked how much food they are fed!!! Your staff need to do better in paying attention to food portions given to people's animals when provided. You're wasting my money and my dog's food by disregarding instructions.

We took our kitten, Remy, in to get a standard neuter. When we picked him up, he was groggy which is to be expected. He stayed groggy for 2 more whole days. That 3rd day, we woke up and he was dead. He was perfectly healthy before this. When I called the office, they were very cold about what I had to say and I did NOT blame them or anyone there. They said they would cremate him for $40. So thats what I did. When I brought Remy's body in to the practice, I paid the lady in the front and they took the box into a room. Never once was I offered to see a vet, or offered condolences, or any shred of kindness. Did they kill my cat? I don't know, but I do know if he hadn't gone in for the neuter he'd still be alive.

The very young staff members all screamed "No" when I made the terrible decision to have my dog put…read moredown. That very hard moment was made so much worse by the way those young people treated me. They didn't know the full story, that I had been force feeding him for months, and that I couldn't do it anymore. When I returned to bring his meds back one of the hateful girls glared at me, and wouldn't even speak to me when I asked about a refund of the unused portion of medication. I saw her whisper something to another one of the girls behind the counter, then I got a glare of hateful judgment from her too. I will never return to this vet office. Mr. Buck Davis and his staff would have never treated us this way during what was one of the most painful times in our lives. I have tried to be kind, but I DO NOT recommend this vet office or it's staff (due to unprofessional treatment by it's emplyees) to any other pet parents.

Where do I begin? I've been coming here since 2016. And today I have reached my wits end. After I…read morehad a conversation with Shan about my concerns about different cuts that my vet noticed and he believed them to be from grooming and Shan ensured me that was not the case and she was not rushed. She said she was wide open and would have plenty of time for my 3 babies on Wednesday. Today, I was told to drop them at 9 am and to pick them up at 2. I then received a text stating she needed until 2:30 because one of my sons was matted. He was not matted, prior to taking him I had another potential groomer look at them for inspection and they made a comment about how smooth his fur combed out. I noticed the same thing, how was he matted? I spent 30 minutes brushing and combing because I got tired of hearing that excuse as to why he was always bald when I picked him up. I asked her if maybe she could show me some tips and I was told by Shan that she could talk to me if I come at 3 but she had other clients coming at 2:30. Excuse me? My babies have been there since 9am! I explained that I miss my babies and would be picking them up and that the talk could wait and she then replied she needed until 3 because "the puppy" peed on himself. At this point I'm livid! When I arrived to pick my babies up, at 3. I heard her tell another person "I should have told him to come in 30 minutes" She told me she had to redo "the puppy" but when I arrived she was finishing up my oldest (she looked great, like the best job I had ever seen by Shan) And then comes my one of sons just as bare and bald with a big puff on his head, sharp choppy edges, no roundness to his head. A mess! Everybody that sees him right now is asking "What happened". I told her I wanted him to have the "Teddy Bear" in which she consistently messes up and I kept given her chance. When I asked how did my son end up peeing on himself she went on a ramble about how he was in a new place and blah blah blah, I then asked was he walked? Shan ignored me, I asked again and she stumbled over her words telling me yes but "I HAVE TO UNDERSTAND..." I didn't hear anything else after that. I am an adult & another adult should never feel comfortable telling me what I "have" to do or "have" to understand. No, I don't have to understand anything when I comes to my children besides the fact that one tried to run out and the other was barking for me not to take him in and I should've listened. After a very heated argument she walked to the back and I was walking out and she mentioned something about "Oh, he's not trying to pay me." Keep me in mind I'm already extremely upset and although my other 2 babies cuts look horrid, I was still going to pay her. Um, first of all you ran to back when I confronted you about your rambling and unprofessionalism form me trying to get an explanation of what happened, once again! Her co-worker that I have never had a conversation with and she has very dark hair came out voicing her opinions as if she mattered. Mind your business and get out of my face! It got very ugly once she used profanity and pointed her hand upward at me. I will never do business here again! My vet had concerns, my friends had concerns, and they're grandparents had concerns and I ignored them because I trusted Shan with my children but never again. I have my own assumptions of why I'm treated this way; she's constantly calling my kids "monkeys" and my babies are always the last ones ready. Monkeys? We all know what the controversy involved with monkeys and you're calling my family monkeys?? You put it together. I was never welcomed, my money was just accepted. She belched "GOOD LUCK FINDING ANOTHER GROOMER PSYCO" No, good luck with your business. My poodles are well-known & I will be sure to make sure nobody else goes through this experience.
