Our dog was admitted to the animal hospital on bank holiday Monday after an RTA. He required his leg pinning, we were quoted £1k to £1.5k initially but this ended up being £3k. When we went to pick him up after the operation he coughed up blood in the car park and was taken back inside. When we picked him up later that day, we were still to be informed which of their surgeries to attend on the Monday and told that he was having the first appointment to have his dressing changed, that he had been booked in all day but this would only be required if there was something wrong with his wound. When we took him for his dressing changed they admitted him all day but didn't look at him until the afternoon then discharged him. My partner was also treated very rudely by the reception manager. The next day his bandage unravelled but they offered us only one appointment within half an hour which we couldn't make and nothing for the next few days. They told us about his next appointment on the Friday that we hadn't been informed about, again they were keeping and charging for all day. We decided to leave. Thank goodness we did, our dog's new vets showed us the X-ray of the operation, only one of his leg bones has been pinned, the other, the ulna is still broken. Our new vets are appalled and have referred him to an orthapaedic hospital. read more
